CrossFire don't launch

Hi all.
Im actually using windows XP 98. I played this game there 2 years and i wanted to play again. My problem is when i launch crossfire (the launcher) everything works normally until i press the start button and the hackshields have done. Im back to my desktop like if i've never opened the launcher and i don't receive any error reports. I tried: Download active X 9.0, re-install the game 3 times, set off my firewall and reboot my computer many times. I meet all the requirements ...
