Mouse Problems

When I log into the game, no matter where I am or what I am doing, even in the lobby, my mouse works perfectly fine for about 2 seconds, then freezes for half a second and repeats over and over constantly. I tried what slant had posted about, that did nothing, and I don't have duel core so that isn't the problem either. The game has always worked as fine as the next guy's (as far as I know) until I just tried to come back to the game from a few months. Yes, I did a clean uninstall/install since I know someone will suggest that.

Here's the ticket I submitted, they sure do seem to read my posts. I will give them BoD however, maybe I did what Slant said wrong, but that's because he gives instructions that I do not understand, or maybe I could not find out where the correct solution to my problem was. Any help would be greatly appreciated, please and thank you.
  • bumpidy bump bump, someone please reply. I submitted another ticket and they said to post a thread on here explaining my problem... I've already done that and no one replies
  • Does your whole computer freeze or only crossfire? Can you use your keyboard (for example move in game or alt-tab) while your mouse is frozen? Does the issue only occur while you are playing crossfire? Is crossfire the only game you play? This may be caused by overheating, so you may want to try to clean the dust from your computer.

You can also try going into your task manager while crossfire is running and setting your program affinity to only one core(google it if you don't know how, it's fairly simple.)

If the issue still persists and you are sure that your hardware(mouse, video card, etc) is fine, then the only other step you can really take would be formatting your hard drive all together.

I can tell you that this issue has nothing to do with the polling rate fix that I posted in the technical support section. At any rate, good luck!
  • It isn't frozen, it's kinda like it hiccups (stops working for a sec, works again, repeat), yes it seems I can use my keyboard when this happens though I am not sure since it starts and ends too quickly to really test. Yes only in the game crossfire, I do play other games of all kinds and I've never seen this before, if my computer was overheating it would drop to about 4 fps, not break the mouse. (I know this because it's happened once in a crossfire game)

I'm not using a duel core so I can't set an affinity (or am I wrong about this?)

I've fairly certain it isn't my hardware since I've played games that have a base requirement more than this (although my computer is fairly sucky for sure). I have 2 different drives that I use, crossfire used to be in my C drive, then i quit it and left it there for whatever reason, I decided I wanted to play again (ghost mode was calling to me I guess) and this started happening. I followed their instructions how to clean uninstall and install exactly but it did it again, so fully uninstalled again like they said and installed it to my D drive (yes i do redownload it everytime, I make sure to do this by deleting any install programs right after I use them, don't ask why, I have no idea why)

    Any more questions/ideas?
  • Front or rear USB port?

    Wired or wireless mouse?

Do you have all your USB ports in use?

Does it still happen if you remove unnecessary USB devices?
  • my usb ports are on the sides, wireless usb mouse is the only thing in the usb thing, yes i have tried the other ports
