It is true, someone can try guns in EM. But Crossroads is not the best testing ground for a sniper rifle. This thread was intended as a measure to help people decide which to buy, and if failing that goal, to at least make clear the differences between the two guns. This same thread topic was in the old forums, but the topics didn't transfer.

M4A1 is superior to the M16 IRL. Having fired both (and carried an M16 around Ft. Knox for 6 months) I can say that I would rather have an M4.
M4 is lighter, smaller, and more maneuverable in urban combat. Sure the smaller frame transfers more recoil to the user, but if you have an attached M203 on it, you don't feel much. I don't know why you think you can go around calling anyone an idiot, when you are in fact one of the consistently least intelligent people on here. It would seem rather difficult to lower your IQ considering that you most likely rank in the negative.
I know you miss your signature with your "spam to 3k" goal but please, post less. -
M4A1 is a variant of M16A2 that shares 80% of the parts, the only difference is the barrel length, unless you are talking about M16A1.

The M16 and the M4 are different weapons. To say that the M16 is better is to say that you'd rather carry around a heavy piece of crap. The M4 is lighter, the trigger issues are fixed, it has a picany rail system that you can mount a whole bunch of crap on, and an adjustable buttstock.

what trigger issues are you talking about? M16A2 use selective fire to max accuracy, it can fire semi or burst with high stopping power , and no it's not the crappy burst on the fake Glock we got. -

"There are mechanical flaws in the M16A2 burst mechanism. The trigger group does not reset when the trigger is released. If the user releases the trigger between the second and third round of the burst, for example, the next trigger pull would only result in a single shot. Even in semi-automatic mode, the trigger group mechanism affects weapon handling. With each round fired, the trigger group cycles through one of the three stages of the burst mechanism. Worse, the trigger pull at each of these stages may vary as much as 6 lbs. in pressure differential, detracting from accuracy. "
