AWM vs Dragunov
Forewarning:
I do not mean this to be a flame thread. But since the old forum topics didn't transfer, there is currently no thread about the two top tier sniper rifles. For anyone who is on the fence about which rifle to buy, through discussion we can identify the merits and shortcomings of both sniper rifles, and help them make an informed decision.
So basically, if you're post is going to be anything like these:
"Dragunov sucks"
"AWM is noob"
"Dragunov = useless"
"AWM is for those who can't aim"
At least back up your statements with some form of reasoning, even if it is a repeat. At least then we understand where you are coming from.

Post above me is what I meant about posts without reasoning. He makes a claim about another sniper rifle (PSG) and does not say why he thinks this way. Also, can we keep the discussion to AWM vs Dragunov, since PSG cannot be bought (only available through SP crates at the moment) and people considering the two probably don't like their M700.
My 2 cents:
Dragunov:
Pros:
Higher ROF
Higher Damage (compared to M700)
*Faster Reload
*Faster travel speed
*Faster draw speed
Less identifiable gunshot
*Notice: These are Pros for the Dragunov but not Cons for the AWM, because an AWM user doesn't walk around with their AWM out (usually). A Dragunov user (from my experience) can keep their Dragunov out as a rush rifle for closer range combat.
Cons:
Inconsistent Damage
Imperfect Accuracy
The Breakdown: The most often cited reason of Dragunov-haters is the inconsistency of its 1 hit kill. Also, the average person who has used the Dragunov picked it up in Crossroads, tried to countersnipe the AWM user, and was dispatched by said AWM user.
Review:
From my experience with it, the Dragunov performs quite remarkably. Its accuracy is comparable to the M700, and thus Head shots can be made. The upgrade from the M700 is that it has higher damage and is capable of killing in 1 hit, albeit inconsistently.
AWM:
Pros:
1 hit kill to any bodypart above waist
Maximum accuracy
Cons:
Slower ROF
Slower Draw Speed
The Breakdown: AWM-haters will say that since the AWM user only has to hit them above the waist, it is a "no-skill gun" or a "noob weapon". That is the only reason really ever cited by AWM-haters, since there are so few of them.
Review: I like the AWM. It's 1 hit kill capability is great. It's accuracy is staggering. It does leave you defenseless if you are not familiar with quick-scoping in close range/ don't have a good pistol. The annoying thing is that its high accuracy is not ever really needed (except when aiming at someone elbow protruding from a window to get a kill).
Basic Knowledge:
1) The AWM is the most common gun due to its consistent 1 hit kill capability.
2) Dragunov is capable of performing 1 hit kills without a headshot. (Exact probabilities for hitboxes and ranges unknown as of now)
3) The weight of a gun is usually not considered to be a negative, since the effect can be negated by switching weapon to a knife or pistol. -

Erm I do walk around with my AWM. I use it as a rifle in close range ._.
Dragunov is confirmed 1 shot kill on stomach at all ranges. -
Dragonov sucks, i use it in Crossroad and it doesn't one hit kill AWM is a one hit kill you fail.Draggy
Its quicker.
And its still a one hit kill in the stomach not much difference in aiming.
And its possibly a little lighter?
And its good for no scoping -
i have 2 accounts for them, ArticMagnum and DraggyExpert, their name says all lol, but i didnt bought them yet and i think that u should use both like their real-life counterpart
Draggy for medium sniping and AWM for long range shooting
Draggy is one hit kill at med range while awm is a one hit kill at long distance
Draggy is for marksmen, those who runs around, AWM is for snipers, those who camps
when i will test both, i will tell more -

you are worng about the AWM-you have to be able to aim to use the gun, AWM is the best gun in CF if you know how to use it -

the maps here are too small to support a good sniping match,
in CA there is a huge map called snow vally, you can figure our what it is by the name
in OP7 there is a huge map called swine winder, it's a HUGE HUGE HUGE desert, IT"S GIGANTIC, it offers almost no cover exapt for a few hill. the perfect sniping zone, I used SR-25 hen I was there......good times.....good times.
in warrock there is a huge map called......well everymap is huge =.=
in CS there is a map called AIM-AWM, where you use AWM and.....you get it. -

Stating your opinion and saying "That is all" does not make you look like an authority. It gives the impression that you're arrogant about what you say.
Yes I am being condescending, but really. Read the first post. -
why can't you just type those images in a sentence by yourself? let alone having an image do it for you, exhibit b the Failure. To most of the posts above me:

I was not saying the AWM sucks or that it's a noob weapon. The line above the quoted examples states:So basically, if you're post is going to be anything like these:
This means that posts like that are not the type that should be put in this thread.
I'm sorry to do this as a response to you, and it is actually for everyone else posting short insubstantial comments, but I think this picture is hilarious.

Draggy for me. But most ppl like the AWM cuz its reliable.
I have no offense to the Draggy it's just it's not suited out for ME i mean the awm is always the best choice, and if you have a deagle your suited if you can pull that baby out in the nick of time. -

Because a picture is worth a thousand words my friend. Instead of explicitly saying someone fails, which by itself is extremely short and quite weak by comparison.
I choose to place a picture, which is somewhat amusing to maintain a lighthearted atmosphere. Is that a satisfactory response? And again, can we stick to the topic of AWM vs Dragunov? Thank You -
