Connecting to game room problem?!?!?!?!?

So i run crossfire, log in , choose a channel and server, and i double click a room and it says connecting please wait, and then after a minute, a green box that says "ok" pops up and i click it and the game closes, ANYONE know the problem? I fixed it on my desktop but my laptop wont wor*** please help!!!!!!!!!!!!
