How Many Chars can you have on a account?

I forgot where I read this but I think it said max 8 chars... If someone can tell me if this is true or not that would be great.

3 minimum characters and 12 maximum characters. When changing your name using the item mall 'Change Call Sign' item, it's 1 minimum characters and 12 maximum characters. For Login ID, it's 12 maximum as well.
