1000 bans? really?

Listen Z8, im glad your "making an effort", but you better get a handle on your game before your profits go to 0.

now that steam has made team fortress 2 a free-to-play game, that whole argument that f2p games have a lot of hacks is basically null. i personally would rather play this game but im certainly not giving you any more money.

another thing, you guys give temp bans for hacking? and call that a zero tolerance policy? no wonder so many ppl hack! im sure someone somewhere is laughing at your staff right now after being allowed back.

Well, i probably should make a suggestion here instead of just reaming you. mabye hire a team of ppl to go in the game and find hackers and ban them right there. Ive heard you guys are doing ip bans now, so that's good i guess.

im sure a mod will close this thread within 5 min so it will die quickly.

funny that alot of people that play this game wouldn't be able to run teamfort
  • funny that alot of people that play this game wouldn't be able to run teamfort

I get ~100 fps in a 8vs8 in Crossfire and yet TF2 laggs on me on 800x600.

    Beat that o.O ?

iF xTRAP CATCHES U WITH A HACK ITS 7DAYS ? thats stupid
  • It's a permanent autoban now, quote from Saidin:

The auto ban and auto detect systems lead to a permanent ban as of March this year. Less than 3 months after the system was implemented.
  • it's very simple ... community grow = cheaters grow = protection same as before *..* ... u get this formula? do we talk about incompetence? ... hell no ... we talk about casualness to legit players ... *,,* ... finally x-trap patches some useless bites since months *..*
  • it's not Z8 profit going to 0. they r just a host for the comunity to discuss.
if CF goes to steam, their will be no Z8 anymore..
  • TF2 is a completely different type/style than Crossfire. I don't enjoy TF2 at all.

This will be the last time I say this.

These bans are above and beyond the REGULAR bannings we do every day.

Our auto detect system can detect a ton of hacks and issue a ton of bans per day too.

The auto system does not stop because we closed a bunch of accounts.

We've banned WAY farther than a thousand accounts. Heck, one day we announced it, it was around 6grand.

Also, temp bans are only for our auto ban system. When a player is reported via the correct report method, it is a permanent ban. However the auto-ban system does lead up to a permanent ban.
  • I agree with thread. Perma ban all hackers, no exceptions. I may actually consider spending some time reporting players if this was to happen.

Again, ALL REPORTED hackers are PERM BANNED.

The're multiple reasons the auto-ban system doesn't give a perm ban the first time, but it does if the player is found to have hack programs on their computer again.
  • funny that alot of people that play this game wouldn't be able to run teamfort

i would agree with that. cf is not a system hog. and reinforces my point that this is a GREAT GAME that will be missed after its owners/operators allow it to die.

Well, Z8 is just a name of a website, our public brand.
G4Box, canadian company behind the website, which the GMs work for, does get the money.

Thread: You can't compare Steams system to ours.
Ours is automatic and instant when detected, theirs is delayed and our markets are completely different.
While TF2 might be free, you're still risking your entire Steam account.
The psychological difference is not to be marginalized, so you're obviously going to see less people cheating there.
We can't work like that, because the cheater here isn't actually risking more than being able to use the account he made in a minute on a free email service.

Our approach has to be different. Its instant (automatic bans on detected cheats every time the user logs on with cheats (making your "omg its not permanent" statement foolish, I'm sure you see it now)), and proactive (XTrap patches, developer patches, glitch fixes).

so umm.. I lost track. Point: All of your assumptions are faulty, please try again.

Reporting does = perma ban. Always has, always will.

The autoban system is the only thing that leads to a gradual perm through detection.

Guys for all these people hating on z8. Please look! They are trying as hard as they can to ban these hackers! Don't judge the auto ban system. They tell you they have closed 1000+ accounts its a good thing but don't hate on them if you still see hackers. Z8 can't catch everyone so as the community hating on the hackers you should do your part by reporting!! If everyone reports they will get banned!! Every game there's always a hacker, do what you can by reporting and banning them, don't waste your time raging in game or forums by now you could have reported the hacker

Funny, I keep seeing them play, again and again. They've lost their honorable soldier ribbon but carry on playing. http://clan.z8games.com/charstat_cf.aspx?usn=3500370
This guys a good example, i reported him like 6 times, first time about 2 years ago. Hes incredibly obvious too.

Does CF search PC for hecks? You should get Saidin to make thread on how the heck finding/banning system works. would enlighten us all and stop these threads.
  • Or we could just give the cheaters an instruction manual on how to not get banned.
How anticheats work is best kept as hidden as possible. Your curiosity won't be satisifed.

A thread is easier to reply to than handling cheaters, although while the cheater gets the point after being banned 3 times, we keep repeating this ten times daily and still few catch on..

So how do you explain the hundreds of people i have reported who are not banned, but have lost honorable soldier ribbon.

It's really not aiding hackers. What happens to our reports when we send them in, does it just go on a tally. like if someone gets x amount of reports do they go under investigation, is that how it works? I can't imagine people reading every report sent in, never-mind watching thousands of replays.

    I have 200 fps in uk1-uk4 i can beat you :D

The easiest way to break a security system, or the only way even, is to know how it works.
    We'd rather not facilitate that.

A report goes directly to the bottom of the queue for reviewing.
Two or two hundred reports regarding the same user does not give it priority, every report is handled individually without bias.

Yeah, its hard to imagine people watching every report and every replay.
But thats how it works, and thats why getting to your (any users) report takes time.
  • Gotta love all these people that say Xtrap is bad when they were not here when Gameguard was our protection. Yes, Xtrap is not doing that great of a job but it's still far better than what Gameguard was... way better.

It's pretty much the same. I was here for GameGuard. The only thing missing is gun hecks, but i thinkt he shooting through walls hack makes up for that.

Rex I have a question, how long does it take between the time I send the Report ticket and the time the staff get the report? Is it 24-72 hrs?

TBH, TF2 was fun. But it was really hard to get used to enjoying it. So now it sits, unplayed. Same as Homefront -.- So much potential.

OT: I really don't see how people complain about EVERYTHING when they are using the product of YEARS of cumulative effort with no charge whatsoever.

Really? The gun hack almost ruined GM, where as I've seen maybe 2 wall blasters in about 4 months. That's quite the job xTrap is doing. The main reason everyone hates xTrap is because they can't see all the bans that xTrap hands out. It's probably equal to or greater than the amount who get through.
  • Lol, like that "team" is going to happen. Nice try though.
  • iF xTRAP CATCHES U WITH A HACK ITS 7DAYS ? thats stupid

there were third party programs that had nothing to do with cross fire but xtrap saw it anyway and thought it was a cheat code. wouldnt u hate to get perm banned because u have a virus or a old cheat from a game u dont play anymore?
