Canada did more than the USA In WW2? put more effort? I can't tell if you are trolling or just retar.ded
And here comes a stuck up egotistic American now. Just because you guys entered and helped with the final days of the war. America did the most? Cut the bullshjt, it goes without saying that the forces that worn down the Germans for the final assault included British Commonwealth and mainly Russia. Do you even know how much Canada did? In the end Canada and USA were both key players. Now for more effort, did American come to the point of Conscription? Did America turn most of it's factories into war factories. Did america supply the biggest base for the royal air forces? Did america see to some of the bloodiest battles of the opening days of the war? Did Americans have to face being gased by chlorine? Did Americans have to go through mindless trench warfare as much or as long as Canada? Yeah answer those for me.
Yeah when you can come up with some facts, I'll happily accept myself as ree****ed. -

Give me 3battles where Canada helped win. As of now, they're is nothing you have mentioned which is a fact.
Lets keep this civil guys. -

We're not talking about battles won/loss, we're talking about war effort. Heck look at Russia, they hardly won any major battles but clearly sacrificed the largest number of soldiers and even went through some really dramatic measures to insure victory against the blitzkrieg tactic.
Also, I did mention facts. Canada came very close to conscription as many soldiers that we sent in ended up dying or mostly getting injured. This sparked an interesting feud between Quebecois and English speaking Canadians.
Canada basically got raaped in the Dieppe Raid, one of the bloodiest battles like I mentioned before.
And for one battle that Canada played a crucial role in would be that Juno beach thing. In the DDAY crap.
Canada also supplied the biggest air base in Alberta where all common wealth pilots came to train.
Canada also had to turn most of it's factories into war time factories under the wartime measures act.
Also, sorry, I mixed WW1 up with WW2. Chlorine gas and war trench fare played most of it's role there, so my bad. -
Why is this turning in to a WWII thread?
Russia and the british did the most in WWII, not the americans nor the canadians
Guess that's where it comes down too. I was just trying to point out, Canada isn't as useless as everyone makes it out to be. Anywho, I'm out. Got stuff to design. -
WW1 and WW2. Arguably, Canada did more than the USA in WW2. Sure we probably wouldn't have won without them but Canada defiantly was in the war longer and put more effort, to be exact, it was in the war since the day it started. Being a part of British common wealth and all. People seriously take Canada too lightly. Lol, some people (Stuck up Americans, JUST SAYIN) wouldn't even notice or acknowledge the fact that Canada lend aid to the Manhattan project.
PAHAHAHAHA, did more than USA? My god you are ******ed. Go to any (not ****ing google or wikipedia) legitimate database and tell me what you can find. USA and Britain did the most fighting in WW2. WW1 i'd say the europeans did more. Canada? not even worth mentioning. -

Are you implying that russia did less in WW2 than america? you are out of your mind son. -
I forget about them, they did a lot and lost the most lives. Thats not the point, the point is that Canada didn't do much at all.
I agree with that, canadians seem to think that they were an important factor in WW2, they should really learn some real history and read some books -
Oh, you mean books made in US written by americans? Totally not biased.I agree with that, canadians seem to think that they were an important factor in WW2, they should really learn some real history and read some books
And if I was to read a book made in Canada written by a Canadian, same thing. They focus mostly on their own country's work. -

I'm yet to read an american book about this for i am not american, you should read german, portuguese and french books about it, they are pretty good.
I'm not saying canada did nothing, but you can't compare what russia, england and america did to what canada did -

Not when you have a book on statistics. Go research, tell me the amount of soldiers Canada lost, to the amount other countries lost. Now look at the amount they spent, compared to other countries.
Oh wait im bored let me do that for you:
Death toll: http://warchronicle.com/numbers/WWII/deaths.htm
Cost for canada: http://wwii.ca/content-7/world-war-ii/facts-and-information/ (33 billion)
Cost for USA: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090211132627AA8I0NO (theres a source link, or just google it you will get it) 288 billion dollars.
SO yeah, -
Well Canada usually gets overcasted by other countries in wars, mainly 'cuz we are so quiet about things. Also Canada did only had the spot light on them for a short while, because they went into war along side with England a few says after they entered, then USA joined in two years later... Which obviously turns a lot of attention towards them >.>I'm yet to read an american book about this for i am not american, you should read german, portuguese and french books about it, they are pretty good.

May I remind you that Canada was still a young country back then. Not too high of a population and you expect us to send in as much troops as USA? K. And Canada to this day doesn't spend a lot of money on wars/military, and you expect them to be paying as much as USA back then? K.Not when you have a book on statistics. Canada didn't do sh1t and Russia was very a very pivotal player during the war at stalingrad which they won, WHICH was a major battle and turned the tide of the war, Along with the US taking North Africa and taking france, canada got chewed up on the beaches, they fought hard but they were just not prepared. That is the only thing Canada got any recognition for. As far as war effort... please..We're not talking about battles won/loss, we're talking about war effort. Look how big this article is:
Canada:

vs
United States:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_home_front_during_World_War_II
Now this is just the effort taken by U.S. citizens and not the military. It surpasses the military effort of canada, which is pretty pathetic.
This shows you can't even compare the effort of the U.S. Military with the Canadian military when Canada can't even beat the effort of people in THE U.S. -

Lol?? You were just complaining that Canada did a lot and that they didn't receive much credit, now you're using the excuse that the population is smaller than the USA (Which is true, no one likes living in ****ty weather 24/7) k. -

iphoneix lacks proper education -
Crappy weather? You know it doesn't snow all year round. Unless you live far north in Nunavut.Lol?? Weather right where I live in Canada, it's been nice and sunny without much cloud cover through the past few weeks. It's been beautiful weather. But nice to see you bring stereotypes to this.
And also I don't understand what you are trying to prove in that post, I didn't contradict myself at all. Canada did do their part in WW2, and no they aren't credited that well. But no, they didn't spend a poop ton of money on the war. USA spent a lot of their money on trying to improve thei technology, and obviously, the Manhattan Project (Which obviously costed a lot and took a chunk of that 288 billion dollars).
Also./wimp vs /surrender? Good way to start the thread, totally not going to turn into an argument at all after 5 pages.
But in the end of this thread, somehow in some way, it will turn up to be Canada vs USA. Like always with these type of threads.
And what gives you the idea of us being wimps? Because we dont like fighting? Because we don't like putting our citizens' lives on the line? That's not being a wimp. -

Also.
The part you quoted is correct, and its actually usually "America vs *** country". Because people from other countries are so terribly uneducated that it makes me wonder if they're even in high school yet.
Beautiful weather? The majority of Canada is empty. Why? ****ty weather. Sure some parts near America are nice.
Manhattan Project costed around 2 to 3 billion dollars. Small amount compared to the $288 billion.
Besides my first post was directed to em0tion or someone who said Canada did a lot USA didn't etc. i dont remember the entire post. Then you jumped in -
All the territories to the north of all the provinces... Yeah, pretty bad weather, I'll be honest about that. And the reason why Canada doesn't have a high density, is because in provinces like Alberta and Winnipeg, it's a lot of farm land it's a lot of plains. And then we got a bunch of mountains at the edge of vancouver which makes it hard to inhabit. The part you quoted is correct, and its actually usually "America vs *** country". Keep dissing on Canada, yet you guys couldn't afford to lose us as allies. And if US would be stupid enough to enter war with us, you'd have it worse than Vietnam. Or maybe you guys have forgotten already about WW1 where regiments of Canadians were the most feared soldiers in trenches?
Point is, the US is still the most advanced military in the world, thanks to their oversized Defense budget (by the way, how's your economy nowadays?). Yet, I doubt they would win a direct confrontation with a resolved China.
This was supposed to be a friendly debate about Canada vs France, but you "patriotic" Americans had to deviate the subject to a Canada-USA argument. Typical.
Maybe you won the war against Japan (thanks to the British resolve in India and Indonesia, btw), but your advances were a joke in North Africa (against the weakly remains of the Afrikakorps thanks to Bernard Montgomery, but hey remember Kasserine Pass?), Italy (as if Mussolini's regime was ever a challenge) and Europe (again the French Resistance was critical, and the push from the Soviets drained out Germany from mounting any serious defense in Fortress Europa).
USA didn't win the war by itself, you needed help and were very opportunistic.
While we're at it, except fighting against already defeated countries like Iraq and Afghanistan, when was the last time the US actually won a war? -
...we were the ones that came into the aid of europe, we needed no help, everybody else did
Hypocrisy. You guys threatened to withdraw your help to the UK because the U-Boats were slaughtering your convoys. You waited 2 years, up until Pearl Harbor, to decide to do something.
Every other country were already fighting the Axis forces.
P.S. Guess who was the most critical supplier of oil to Germany. Look no further, it was American help. -

Wait are you saying that canada would win against the US? I don't like the US and i'm usually against the US but saying that canada would "destroy" them is pure stupidity.
Against china? Yes the US would lose.
WW2, Russia was the most important part, then it was the british and then america. Saying canada's efforts were even close to the one's of these 3 country's just tells me that you need to forget what your teacher told you in 5th grade and read some real books or talk to a real historian.
