New revamped Scar-H

Hello everybody, i'm here to bring you an old suggestion i've made here a long time ago, along with some corrections and balance to the weapon suggested.

As you know, the fn scar-h (mk-17 mod 0) is an battle rifle that utilizes the 7.62X51mm NATO cartridge, wich is a really powerful cartridge. (even more powerful than the ak-47's 7.62X39mm cartridge)

the image above, shows you the difference, between the russian ak-47's 7.62X39mm and the 7.62X51mm NATO cartridge, more powder = more propelling power.

So, i am suggesting a revamp on the stats of the scar-h, turning it into a 2-shot kill weapon when hitting the body, any limb hit will reduce it's power to a 3-hit kill.

To balance that power, we will add more recoil to the weapon, reduce it's mag to it's original mag size, a 20-round mag, and make it a semi-auto gun with a firing rate capped to 550 RPM (slower than the ak-47).

Q: But 74KE, sniper rifles utilize the same ammo as the scar-h (PSG-1, MSG-90), and they are 2 hit kills even to the limbs, why isn't the same to the scar-h?

A:Because the barrel of the scar-h is smaller than the psg-1's and the msg-90's, being the scar-h's barrel standard mbarrel 368mm long, while the barrel of the standard psg-1 and mag-90 is 650mm, making the bullet get more energy from the explosion of the cartridge than the scar-h's bullets.


Q: won't it be overpowered with all it's mighty power and it's high firing rate?

A: with the power being a 2 hit-kill only to the body (chest and stomach) meaning every limb hit will make it a 3 hit-kill, what you could achieve with an ak-47, i honestly don't think so, also, along with the slimited firing rate (slower than the ak-47) the smaller mag and the big recoil, you won't find balancing problems with this weapon.

So, tell me what do you think about my idea, and please, leave a comment with what would you change in it to make it better :]

    I think 2HK is pretty powerful. I'd say make the max damage 50 meaning it can kill in 2 but with some reduction over range so it will be an average of 3. (Stronger than the AK-47). Have the ammo become 20/60 and overall it should be pretty balanced. It has a slow reload with shallow clip for an assault rifle but extremely powerful and very accurate as well. This will help promoting more skillful game play and conservation rather than spray and pray with this gun because you will run out pretty quickly and spend more time reloading than shooting. All and all it's everything I wanted the M14EBR to be.

    i still think the damage should be a very often 2 hit kill to the stomach, and i think changing the necessary rank for the gun would balance it, like, make it a high rank gun .-.

    Rank really doesn't matter and all it would do is give more of an incentive for people to farm just so they can use it. 2 shots would be way to strong if it was the average. You'd only have to hit 2 out of a 3-5 shot burst. A constant spray can shred through groups since some times you may need that 3rd or 4th shot but not with this gun but again at close range 2 shots if you are near point blank being here and there then okay.
  • I think the DEVs knew that the Scar-H was significantly more powerful than the AK but kept the power less than the AK so as to not affect game-play and stuff (they didn't want to make it OP).

    I think it would be cool to do some revamps to the Scar-H, but I really don't want to sacrifice its Automatic fire for a 2 shot kill because, then, all we have is D.Eagle with more ammo and a faster rate of fire.

    I definitely think the Scar-H takes skill to use, and it's understated. If there are going to be revamps, accuracy and reload speed may be tampered with, and power can't be over 45. This keeps it as a 3-shot-kill weapon (mind you, the AK is 42, and the AR Beretta is at 43).

    the firing rate is capped at 550 RPM, but i think we could make it 500 RPM so people wouldn't spray that much, since you gotta click as fast as you can until 500 rpm, that's it's limit, also adding a smaller mag would reduce the spraying, along with the already sluggish reload and the high recoil that i've suggested.
    what i'm trying to introduce here is a revamp of an weapon that would be totally different from what we have now on CF, so would be cool to test a weapon that's not a sniper but it's a 2 hit kill too, but it trades power for higher recoil, smaller magazine, smaller RoF and a sluggish reload, wich can be considered a good balance to it.

    as i've stated above in the other quote, i am trying to introduce a new kind of weapon to CF, a battle rifle kind of weapon, powerful, but with a small mag and high recoil, making it perfect for mid range fights, but lacking RoF for close range and not having a scope for longer ranges.

    A two hit kill weapon would make a different weapon that could be employed significantly different from an assault rifle in this game, adding variety to it, so, i think this would be a great add, after surely, a few balancing discussions .-.

    This and it would draw attention away from the scr.....i mean scar light.

    well, it's a totally different weapon to use, but i don't think it would draw more attention than the scar light, since the recoil is a lot higher and it would be semi-auto :B

    InB4 HK417 30 round, full auto @ 775 RPM and 2 hit kill and painfully slow reload.

    meh, these rifles with bigger cartridges should never be used on full auto, it's just a waste of ammo and good shoulders :x
  • Here's one way to buff the SCAR-H, it should have a slightly faster reload, higher accuracy, or something at least to make it better to compete with the AK.

  • Maybe there's a way to make it more balanced since you want it to be that powerful...
    The SCAR-H in-game has a 20-round magazine on, but it says it has 30 rounds, so make it have a 20-rounds instead of 30 to make it less of a spraying nub cannon! XD Ooh! Also make it have the reload it has from MW2, I like that reload, it could also be a reload speed buff for faster reload instead of the very slow reload it has in-game.

    as i've stated on the first post i wanted the scar-h to:
    -have the original 20-round magazine
    -power enough to be a 2 hit kill to the chest in long ranges, but a smaller multiplier to the limbs, implying every limbshot to make the weapon a 3 to 4 hit kill
    -be semi-auto
    -have a different spray pattern
    -have the RoF capped to prevent spraying.

    the rest is just fine as it is .---.
  • Well the SCAR-H can use the 7.62x39 round after reading some stuff on Wikipedia since it came from a source/citation, but it might not be true. So how about a SCAR-H full-size form for semi-automatic and damage, since the one in this game is for close quarters and spray'n'pay!

    the same round as the ak-47 .-.
    but for CQC the army might use submachineguns and scar lights :/
