CrossFire and Steam... working together.
You guys should try to link CrossFire to Steam... it would be nice to you... more players would start playing CF, and it would better for Steam users who also play CF (me and a few friends... and maybe thousands of players)... talk to friends using the shift+tab feature and stuff... And it would be easier to download the CF client too...
I think it's free to get your game to work with Steamworks... im not sure, but i think so. There are more are details on Valve's website... think about it.
PS: http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/ Check it out... the information I was talking about is there.

I know it doesnt work if you try to add CF as a non STeam game... but if CF was working with STEAMWORKS, it would be different.
If everything goes ok, CF would have its own page on Steam website... users looking for good games would find CrossFire... download and play it -
Judging by the wording, the SW's setup although free yes, has a secondary problem to it.
They are intending on selling the product, therefore that would defeat CF's F2P methods greatly.
Plus I don't think it would work that well with the different coding. -

Coding shouldn't be a problem I think...
If the just connect servers with each other to let it connect thru stream than thats it
if the wanna go all out and intergrate the whole steam account in to it than that would be a problem ya....
But f2p games don't do that anyway on steam the just let it use there servers for players information, playing stuff and maybe add some coding so the can use the shift+tab thing and futures like that for easier gaming/community/other stuff
Not like the intergate the whole vavle's standard steam accounts in to it lolz....
That would take forever to code I think............. -

Exactly. Just like Forsaken World... its linked to Steam, but FW acc and Steam acc are different... my Z8Games acc has nothing to do with my Steam acc. -
you want CF on steam because.. you're to lazy to get an other program then steam?
there's teamspeak, xfire, etc.. download those togheter with your friends, it's what we all do to comunnicate.
No, dude... I use TeamSpeak too... I want CF on Steam cause there are friends of mine who dont use any other programs. I own a TS server, dude... so that's not the reason.
Like I said... the shift+tab feature and everything. -

Like I said... the alt+tab feature and everything.
Xfire uses the same alt+tab feature. Just get that o.o if that's all you want from it, and that works with Crossfire already. I would like it to go to Steam but I don't really see how it would make a difference at all in the game. -
Steam and Xfire are diffrent thing, man... If CF was integrated with Steam, dude, it'd be easier to download CF client (ppl who got Steam know that), and you could talk to ur Steam frinds while playing. And, also, information about the updates would be shown on ur games library... just like the other Steam games.
And, like I said, it'd be good for Z8... more players would start playing CF (ppl from Steam)...
