resolution question

i got a monitor which i used to play with 1600*900.
i tried my friend's computer case today. and it says the monitor can't run under 1600 but 1280.
so i have to play with smaller sight.

anyone knows why? how can i make it work as it used to?

You hooked it up to a new computer? Are you sure the graphics card on this new pc is able to run that resolution?

how do i know if the graphic card can run that?

In that image you posted it looks as if you can run 1600*900. Is that not what your trying to do? Or is the game telling you to run at 1280?

it stops me trying for 1440*900 actually.
saying my monitor doesnt support that.
but i actually play on that with the same damn monitor.

go to ur VGA card control panel and "add new resolution"
type in 1440x900

then u can play

i had the same problem on a laptop

I got the same problem.. But no idea where to acess VGA card control panel lol... on a laptop with windows 7 and and ati radeon 5650

just find your video card control panel and set up the resolution.
