Pleaase..get rid of the steam from metro, crossfire player i know who plays metro all agreed that the steam was the problem of lag, farther away from steam = less lag, closer= more lag, i tried to ask a GM but he told me that "we're not gonna change it for the advantage of 1 player" what does that mean? TONS of people are having the same problem as I am, I WANT to play metro, but i can't because of the ridiculous lag.

Try changing all your game settings down to the lowest setting and see if that works.

This is true. My FPS drops to around 20 whilst the steam is active.

im talking about the steam, there is no option to lower steam , and yes my graphic is on lowest

Get a better computer? ... maybe your graphics card is too weak to handle it. I run on intergrated graphics, but I'm upgrading to a Radeon 4650 with Crossfire enabled soon.

steam does not make me lag, I think its your computer but I do agree for people with lower end computers there should be a disable button

i totally agree

every time i go near the damn thing my fps drop to 10 which makes the game almost unplayable and last time i checked you cant even see ghosts in its smoke (for some odd reason)

its annoying and its useless so why not taking it off?

I actually have a pretty good comp I play on. Nothing in this game makes me lag, /except/ that steam.

I think its only a select few people that don't get effected by it.

Not sure why that steam is such a problem, but nothing else is. It needs to be looked at and fixed or just plain removed.

look dude, im talking for the people who lag during metro, the world dosn't revolve around you, i don't care if you do have a good computer, we're talking about steam lag here

i didn't met a drop of fps in that zone

so.. maybe some graphic cards are affected, and some not

i suggest to improve your computer to avoid this

Wow. Sad reply by that GM.

However, removing the steam would give camping ghosts an advantage. Not a fatal advantage, but none the less. The map is hard work as it is for GR.

Being given the option to disable could of course work.

Usually my comp runs a solid 10 fps, but the steam...makes me lag.

I usually run at about 130-200 fps, when looking at the steam it goes down to 80-100 fps.
It's not about the video card's capabilities. It's the fact that even with the best video card, it's bound to bring fps down a little bit. The coding of the steam is what the problem is...

If you lag from small amounts of smoke then upgrade your graphics card.
If you're eyes hurt then, like I said, quit living in a cave.

smoke grenade dosn't make me lag, im okay with the everything else in the game. wow people have to be more on topic.....THE STEAM is the problem of lag in metro, i play smoothly when im away from steam.
