The first board is obviously racing stats.
The position they're in. The driver's name. The gap from first place to the that person (Wizy is a lap down to Ariel). The interval between each driver (7th through 10th are all a lap down, but they're racing right together.) Lap times (Two fastest people are in Green, first and second have really slow lap-times) ST1 and ST2 are portions of lap. Time between certain "check points" on the track. These show where drivers might be faster than others. Again, fastest times are in green. "Pi" is how many times they've been to the pits thus far. (First and second have been in the pits twice, but third has only been in once thus far.)
Anyway, yeah, when I'm /really/ thinking about it I do actually like to look around the stage, just to see what they actually created.
Yeah, the BL side is actually supposed to be a little food shop. If you check just to the right of the door on BL's spawn side, on the first floor, its the bathrooms.
