Maybe they should take it away since you want to gloat about it.

If you played atleast a few games in the final mission I think they still give you the ribbon because only regular matches count and they couldn't know if you played knife/sniper/pistol only.

just a guess.

if you completed 90% of the misson. You get the ribbon.
