i THINK THE EASIEST THING TO DO IS JUST TO HAVE PLAYER MODS JUST LIKE RUNESCAPE WHO ARE NORMAL PLAYERS BUT CAN BAN PPL... THEN THE HAAKERS WOULD BE GONE RIGHT OFF THE BAT xD

Our mods on these boards are biased as it is, it would only be worse in-game.
  • So the more reports you spam, the more chance you have of them seeing your ticket...

Am I the only one that sees the flaw in this?

Ingame reporting WILL NOT COME! IT WILL BE TOO ABUSED!!!! Prime example is the kick voting.

How many times have you been called a hacker and they said theyre reporting? Well if its ingame then it makes it so easy for them and the support system will be even WORSE

Do people not read what they type?

How about you can only report the same person once per day?
And remember mod, they need to be in the room to be reported.

In addition, I've been called a hac.ker many times, but I can guarantee you that most REAL ha.ckers have 10x the amount of reports I have.

Remember, PRIORITY system. Real hac.kers, being reported many more times, are bumped to the top of priority.

And anyways, the reviewers STILL LOOK at the videos!

    Even if I was reported 10000000 times I wouldn't be banned because I don't ha.ck!

So I hope that clears stuff up.
  • No it isnt. They are in posession of 2 games.... TWO! Theyre absolutly tiny in the F2P world.

They dont.. that wasnt my point... but if the last 30 seconds are sent then the hacker can disable the cheats for the last minute or so and get away with it. How was that hard to understand?

It's not the last 30 seconds of the game.

It's the 30 seconds BEFORE the report.
  • How about then, players had to EARN this privelege?

1st category: have to be 1st LT + (dependable)
2nd category: Have to spend 100+ dollars on game (abuse = ban, you wouldn't wanna get banned if you spent so much money...)
3rd category: have to have a short training session/interview.

It's not exactly player mods, because remember, ONLY the REPORTS would be sent in!

And since these reports would come from more reliable people, then they could be trusted more, but THE REPORT STILL HAS TO BE REVIEWED. It's not like all reports = ban....NO!

They STILL HAVE TO BE LOOKED AT. This would just way streamline it and make the workload easier for everyone!
  • Here are some modifications to the suggested kick system, which is way better than what we got.

    1) The the accused player can only be reported once per day, per person.
    2) The hacker has to be in the same room with the person reporting him.
    3) If a player sends fradulent reports, he will get punished after a certain point. Like for example, 3 fake reports gives you a 1 week ban, etc.
    4) Please have the option to kick noobs who don't kick the obvious hack in their team. Not to single out any race/ethicnicity/country.... aff.
    5) Even if this system gets abused, they will get punished accordingly. Its sort of like a double-edged sword.
  • 1st category: have to be 1st LT + (dependable)

problem with this is all the farmers(br's) who would abuse this ability horribly
  • It's amazing how when someone suggest a simple fix to the current hacker program (or just another way to fix it) the MODs have to come on and shut it down without giving it thought. There are many ways to disallow people to "abuse" the system, don't sit there and say there isn't. Similar to way there is a limit on the vote kicks per game currently, you sure as hell can do it with this suggestion.

    Lag? Are you kidding me.

Yes... imagine how many false reports there are already. This will only increase and slow down the system even more. It simply isnt practical.
I do believe there already is a form of priority system, filters and subsection to the backend ticket system.

No. A player shouldnt have to earn the right to report. There would be an increase in the hackers around if only the higher levels are able to. In addition, rank does not equal maturity or intelligence.
I havent spent $100 dollars on this game. Should this make me exempt from reporting?

This already happens for Moderators. If we dont have ingame powers what makes you think theyre going to give it to a few randomers they pick off the forum?

We dont shoot them down if they make sense or are plausible. This is neither and im merely pointing out the flaws of the suggestion.

How do you suggest they limit it so it isnt abused then? Bare in mind a ticket limit isnt plausible either because they may see more cheaters then they are able to report.

Rank and money spent arent plausible either and nor is handpicking specific people off the forums... if this would happen they already would be Moderators.

In case you don't know, that's a system of reporting in-game, where you put the person's name in, then select what they're doing wrong.

But instead, you could select the person from the game, choose what kind of hack they were using, and then add a description if you wanted.

Contents from other versions should not be discussed on this forum.
Please refrain from breaking rules kthxbai.

Occasionally we see more hackers in a room then we are able to kick, even if the kicks go through. Same with this system if it is implemented, best you could do is hope other people are reporting them.

Limits can be the same as the current kick system.

Many other ways can be found/developed to stop abuse of the system, rewarding people for reporting hackers and disallowing the system to be used by abusers is just one way.

Thats true. But a person is more likely to come across more than 2 or 3 hackers a day and wont be able to report more.

If the situation is as bad as people claim it to be (which it really isnt.. backed up by official reports from the GM's and numbers) then this will more than likely be the case. You CANT limit the amount of reports sent in.

To your next point... No. Rewarding people for sending in hack reports. Legit or not, this WILL increase the amount of false reports sent in and slow down the system even more than it is.

I didn't mean rewarding them as in giving them free ZP/other items, etc. Simply allowing them to continue sending in reports.

The numbers of reports sent in is probably extremely low compared to the actual number of hackers are in the game (saying this is the statistic you're using). Some don't bother reporting anymore due to the great hassle one has to go through...
Even if a this system was not implemented there should be some in-game report system. Save replay with hacker(s) name + in-game replay report system + sent = report . Easy and simple.

The idea is not to increase the number of reports sent in, it's to increase how easy it is to send those reports. I swear if you guys make it easier, and have more serious hacking punishments, more people will bother reporting. At this point, we just leave rooms and allow other people to deal with it.
  • Sigh another thing just snapped to me.

With the recent PM system update we should be allowed to send attachments (as in replays and pictures). If not to other players, to Saidin and other Z8 workers. Save the replay, name it, and in-game report.

lololol i just thought of this from Runescape.

    Unless runescape = CF...

No. If its too easy such as having an ingame system, then everyone that cal;led you a hacker will send in a report. I mean why shouldnt they?

Only Support staff can handle then. The GM's dont have enough time.
  • To explain Giggle.
The runescape reporting system records what happens 30 secs prior to when you report. I think they are suggesting that Ingame, they would have an option called report underneath kick. So as soon as you spot someone hacking you have 30 secs to report them before the evidence vanishes. (If they stop hacking immediately, which is unlikely).

    Another way of explaining it
    **Ingame** (Important)
    Someone is hacking
    Report
Support staff would receive the 30 secs before the report, catching the hacker.

It's also true that Z8 wouldn't be able to support this atm. But if they get bigger it certainly would be possible :D.

    Because
    1) Reports would be more streamlined, 30 secs of report as opposed to whole game. (Saves time and space)
    2) Having barriers to multiple reports,
1 per hacker per person, (Maybe a maximum on total reports too)
maximum 10 reports of a hacker (any more could have a message saying guy has already been reported 10 times, no need to send in reports),
Maybe still have out of game reporting but make ingame reporting only available to slightly higher ranks (so they play the game a while first to figure out who's hacking and who's not, hopefully)
X amount of reports per time period, could stop bots spamming reports.
Making reporting a lengthy process, so it isn't abused

And so on... There are many ways
    3) Also if they report a legit player/or 3 wrong reports then they will lose the right to report ingame forever and will have to report outside the game. (This could be made clear in the long and lengthy ingame reporting process) Eventually all the people who send in wrong reports would be disallowed.

    Downsides,
Z8 would have to hire more support staff at the start
With CFs record, they are more than likely to screw up the update so that it contains loads of bugs
Hackers could probably crash the game by using bots to report
    etc
  • If the situation is as bad as people claim it to be (which it really isnt.. backed up by official reports from the GM's and numbers)

giggle i just came from a room with 4 speed hackers and a possible cham

so how on earth is it not that bad

alos only problem with the 30 second thing is trying to type names with special characters which i notice alot of hackers have in their names

Hmm seems logical. Problem is the maturity of the community and the report spam. It isnt too plausible but one of the better ideas ive seen around here.

that :) this idea could work awesome, and another suggestion:

-make the report the same as chat blocking, under kick and chat block put: report, there u can choose player and then click what type of hack, the last 30-60 seconds of his gameplay ( before the report ) get send in, and then reviewed

-when 1 player gets for example reported in 1 week 200 times in ghost mode... and they see he doesnt hack, BLOCK THE REPORT for that player on ghost mode saying a message to the reporter: this player is legit, no report avaible

if z8games uses more their mind then awesome things can happen, stop saying: no we dont, or no we cant.... JUST DO IT, try it out 1 week, does it fail? remove it, then ur allowed to say "it doesnt work" because... no prooves = didn't happen ;)
