Support Steam NOW!

  • Ah, well Crossfire with Steam would be a great idea, there would be more Americans and Europeans playing, more $$$.

    VAC doesn't stop all hackers.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for example... X.X hackers ruined the online game for awhile, now no one plays it.

If they do add it, dont make it required obviously to play.
  • Alright here is a new proposition:

Crossfire should come to steam but without Steam services like VAC. It can still have in-game Steam support though. Also, it will not be required to have Steam to download the game. Such is the case with Alliance of Valiant Arms (AVA), you can either get it through Steam now, or IJJI Reactor.

Same should be done with Crossfire, either we can download it through Steam or z8games.com

What do you think about this idea now?

As DarthFloe pointed out, Crossfire will get more money towards it thus allowing for better content for a quickly growing community. In the end no one has anything to lose, either you use Steam with the game or you can continue using xfire or anything else that you use.
  • The games getting added to steam are not using VAC they're just on steam and using some steam backend stuff like the steam wallet so you can add money to that and use it in game or the steam overlay so you can chat with friends and surf the net while you're dead or something.

    TL;DR
it has nothing to do with changing anti-cheats.
  • +1 YES - IF Z8 doesn't at least try to...they're crazy.

They'll get like a billion more people playing = MORE ZP Money FOR THEM = More content for US! :P

I think your going a bit over the top there but it wold be nice to have more european players in the game.

Ikr... They updated it to make it less buggy... And it got worse xD Needless to say, uninstalled immediately and looked for standalone downloads. Couldn't find any from sites I trusted, so I gave up. Trying it with Steam will be nice...

Btw, everyone post your Steam IGNs. I need friends :(

skeetown feel free to add me
  • so many people agreed but the most important ones are some mods or people who have the authority to suggest this to Z8 :)

I have to say Z8 needs better anti-cheats or more active punishment, I have been seeing a guy with rank Captain, hack everyday for a week and not even going to be banned, that's ridiculous
  • Since AVA is also supported by Steam, and is in almost direct competition with Crossfire in terms of Free2Play markets, I doubt this will happen.

Even if Steam supported Crossfire, it wouldn't get VAC.

Also, the only positive thing from steam support is the in-game interface not saying "Non-Steam game" when you play. You can already use the in-game interface on Crossfire anyway..
English speaking people will drop the game as fast as back in 2009.
  • Ava has no hacker lol. I support your steam idea, but Ava is not on Steam but on Ijji as far as I know.
  • By the way people if the cross fire gets to steam

It won't change anti-hack stuff at all
It's pure business, steam adds CF to the support list of games to there steam
cross fire gets mores players and steam gets a x% of income the made thanks to those new players that are coming from steam or something like that!

    SIMPLE SAID:
It's probably just PURE to get more players to make more money for both companies!
If that would ever happen would be funny, really it will lolz...

    Agreed!

  • Everyone is forgetting about BR's invading other games cause they saw them on Steam.
  • This isnt a "Snap-Of-The-Fingers" Move.

If they are using Steam purchasing options for ZP, then that will need to be implemented correctly among other things that will need to be changed.

Not to mention thats theyre on a contract with XTrap and cant just cancel it.

That is a good point Giggle However i think i could do some good for this game.
  • In fact you just mde me feel stupid for not having thought about it earlier :s.

I noticed those 5games and even downloaded 3 of them (delted my old version of A.V.A and downloaded Forsaken World and Spiral Knights since it's summer and I might get bored sometimes xD).

I totally support this, we would see many GOOD PLAYERS and some which know what skills are and we would probably see our community growing (I'm talking about thousands if not hundred of thousand people) in number and maturity.

Plus Steam Friends would know when I'm playing CF or just dicking around on internet.

And I'm also guessing that we'd see mainly ENGLISH people joining us.

VAC is a great thing especially now we're getting severly attacked by hackers since a couple of months and Xtrap doesn't seem to be capable of blocking them quick enough.

Make us dream CrossFire, we really need this.

EDIT: Forget about the VAC part. Working like A.V.A would be perfect anyway.

@giggle: if we do as A.V.A there's no problem with having to end Xtrap's contract since we wouldn't have VAC.
  • Not to mention thats theyre on a contract with XTrap and cant just cancel it.
How long is the contract? Or is it until US CF goes down? I personally think this would also help Crossfire in many many ways.

Once again, XTrap has to ruin our gaming.

XTrap is doing a fine job. Any other AC would be having the same issue.

The only other AC that I know of with an autobanning system is VAC. But that flags your account first. XTrap just boots and bans you once caught.
  • I don't get it.
Distributing through Steam, fine, might get more users.

Wouldn't mean anything for the cheating situation though. Steam does not equal VAC.

    This = True.

In addition, VAC flags accounts then bans... delayed bans... and solely relies on it. At least XTraps bans are instant.

    Exactly.

Doesn't affect the contract which link Xtrap to our CrossFire.
Brings in more EU and NA players.
    Brings in more money.
Makes things easier for us (like when you die and have to wait next round to spawn you could just shift+tab and go on these forums or whatever you want, Xfire's browser sucks).

OMG it's white rather than lime.

    Steam isnt prim arily NA/EU.

I downloaded AVA but dont intend to spend money on it.

The idea is: More Skilled, smart, Players Less, Dumb non english speeking, Players.
who hackusate at everything. I think it is a lost hope. But Its not going to happin at this point.

    Time will tell..

    Steam isnt primarily NA/EU.

    It's mainly NA/EU.
But that's not what really counts. We all know that what interests the people who handle this game is MONEY and they'll get even more money by doing this (not criticising, it's a company, it's made to make money).

Downloaded it too, won't spend a cent on it. My gaming money will and always will go in CrossFire because of it's lovely BlackMarket (A.V.A's sucks and I find the graphics over there weird).
  • Right.

Its a carefully weighted business decision though, if it happens, it wouldn't be because of this.
And since we're not currently part of it, dropping names feels more like advertising.

Possibly. But im looking at it realistically. It may never happen. But it might. Im not holding my breath though because it probably wont.

Learn not to expect too much of anything... youll always end up dissapointed in the end.

i think avas bm sucks too lol xD

I would just like more eu/na players in the game tbh and i think steam could help with that, not too bothered about the ac tho, hacks have their high and low times so i just stick to uk4 where at least the smileys cant come while its on a high.
