Support Steam NOW!

Steam just started supporting Free to Play games today. So I think that Crossfire should be among the titles that are on Steam.

Proof: http://kotaku.com/5811885/steam-goes-free-to-play

VAC, which is the security program on Steam games, is far better than the current X-Trap, and Steams banning policy is very, very strict.

I strongly suggest that one of you moderators or game masters pass this up to the developers of the game.

Thanks :D

  • Yay :D More people that agree with me.

Not only that Alliance of Valiant arms just went to Steam and their user just sky rocketed. Personally, many of my friends on steam never heard of AvA but now that it's on Steam every friend I have has Ava.... I'm telling you if CF goes there early it will be downloaded. It is the best free CSS alternative, hell I would even say it's better than CSS.
  • Agreed, I would immediately download Crossfire via Steam :D
  • hell yea.....but i think x-trap coder are slow but more experience in F2P games
  • With VAC I have never seen hackers in any of the multiplayer games I have seen. Ever. People are just too scared because there are no temporary bans for hacking.
  • Z8 could somehow arrange a deal with Steam to use VAC, eh? :b

Believe me, if they use private, you won't even notice, those things are so legit now, that's almost like a human >_>
  • Can I actually propose this idea to the owners of Crossfire? If so where do I write too?

Agreed. Steam is going to benefit from the F2P because it's usually Pirate or free games nowadays. I still buy games (although I wish I hadn't bought some...) but it's expensive to gamble on games most times. Besides, CF could use a boost in its ENGLISH user base.

Not true. I've seen some games with VAC being cheated, but not alot. Homefront was one exception.

Also, downloading AvA now. Wanted to test it out, but ijji Reactor is the buggiest POC I've ever used...
  • Can I actually propose this idea to the owners of Crossfire? If so where do I write too?

Could be, have no idea... Wait for a MOD, GM to reply :b
  • Will ava change its anticheat solution? :O
  • z8games probably already has been offered this by valve!

And the are maybe just waiting for it to perfect it's integration?
I heard someone said the had a new developr so that would be something about valve maybe?
    something is something?

I'm just speculating not saying it's a fact or a lie speculating is speculating and we may not know till the say something about it!

So anyway it will be a good advertisement for crossfire to bring it self to steam!
css and probably much more players, that will try out crossfire because the see it's free on the steam site and go like hmmm I would like to try that out and maybe even keep on playing it!

P.s Kinda funny how I sad a week ago or so to someone to contact steam to ask to support crossfire lolz... and now free to play games are being added to the steam list!
Nothing to do with it probably but still funny lolz!!!!!!!!!!!
  • No, AVA will keep using the anticheat they have, but I've tested it out and never encountered speeders and stuff like that... So I'm guessing it's pretty good.

Same I too am downloading this game again. I had it with ijji but the reactor was really, really buggy as you said. Thus I uninstalled it.

Not sure. Some people may still use the ijji reactor to play the game and can't be protected by VAC. Unless Valve has some way around that.

And more income for Z8 ;D

Ikr... They updated it to make it less buggy... And it got worse xD Needless to say, uninstalled immediately and looked for standalone downloads. Couldn't find any from sites I trusted, so I gave up. Trying it with Steam will be nice...

Btw, everyone post your Steam IGNs. I need friends :(

    ZGravityy, feel free to add.
  • If it came to Steam you would see a resurgence in English speaking players.

True, but I would love to have CF on Steam.

Same, plus the Steam screenshot system is nice, too. Also, CF should add overlay support.
    BTW, just added you guys.
  • By the way people if the cross fire gets to steam

It won't change anti-hack stuff at all
It's pure business, steam adds CF to the support list of games to there steam
cross fire gets mores players and steam gets a x% of income the made thanks to those new players that are coming from steam or something like that!

    SIMPLE SAID:
It's probably just PURE to get more players to make more money for both companies!
If that would ever happen would be funny, really it will lolz...

AVA has ingame overlay, something that I really desire on Crossfire when I launch via Steam >_>.
    Accepted.

I know that most likely anti-cheat will be the same, but still, income for Z8 = game still up and running :D

Clearly never played a source game before. VAC blows it takes a week or two for them to get detected and even then there are no guarantees. VAC gets bypassed all the time by private cheats that you have to pay for, x22,EA,RH being the most known. VAC on top of that rarely updates the anti cheat itself, it just updates the game, VAC also doesnt take reports of cheaters.. besides VAC doesnt listen anymore then z8 does, look at counter-strike:source for example, no one wanted that update but they did it anyway now the game is almost as dead as COD4.

    tl;dr - bad for crossfire.

Actually, even with the income of steam players z8games would still make enough profit I think!
The already have a big fanbase world wide with over 500k players!
So ya maybe z8 goes for the ego path and thinks more about it self and the game quality than more players from steam for a better community!

Imo, css update = worse thing ever...

You're not playing enough then. Vac is awful.

Clearly you probably played on hacked servers or modded rooms. I played a ton of CSS in the past and I never encountered a hacker at all... maybe that was just me. But still.

CSS and COD4 are dead??? Not at all. Especially COD4, the PC community still plays that game a lot. It's the most played game on xfire.
