GFX help!

How can I make 2 colors "clash" in photoshop?

For example purple on the left, green on the right. They meet in the middle and the colors mix a bit.

Now see how many people can help or even understand my vague description.

  • You sir are looking for Gradient. Which can be found in PS usually by clicking and holding down the Paintbucket icon on the toolbar, you will then see it labelled there to select it.

If the rest isn't straightforward let me know and i will continue.
  • About that.. I'm a small GFX artist myself.. and i have been toying around a bit with photoshop.. And well.. Do you have any tips as if there was a picture that was standing out from a space like background.. and you were to give that character/picture a sort of glow to it? But still give the background credit as well?

I'm an idiot for fogetting about gradients >.<

Do you know how to give it a good clash-like effect for the colors after using the gradient?

Well, I believe PS has the effect to cause a glow if you double click the layer it has effect options. Its the most I am able to figure out of your request unless you plan on doing so by hand. Though the 'credit' thing has me puzzled a bit by its meaning.

Define 'clash'? Chances are if your looking for something more fancy than the typical gradient I use the Liquify and/or Smudge tool depending on the real effect I'm going for. However with little detail in terms of the 'clash' your looking for thats all I got for you atm.

I was thinking of smudge tool as well.
Or I might just make the colors mixed all around since I'm making a pop out sig
