Ideas for the competitive scene
Ye alright basically, this game is good for players trying to come into a competitive scene on a game. I really enjoy it, but the EU community, im not sure about the NA community are so scarse and untogether.
Now, playing games like COD BO on PS3, just as a way to get to know the opposition they have the first round of a scrim just a classical down to earth knife only round. A bit of fun, knowing the other team wont just whack out the gun and spray them down. We have xfire: create our own league, make a real pug vent that works and when your on your own? Come and chill! Make it a community, not a group of teams because otherwise the community has no future.
Lets actually work for something, please; post your replies because it will work if we all put the effort in. I dont mean knifing, i mean all round, make this a community thatt people want to be a part of.

You give the maturity level of the CF community wayyyyy too much credit. People on here are incapable of chilling. Everything is competitive on here. It's a great concept and in theory it would be amazing for the community, but it's impossible. The CF community just can't handle nice things.

Like everything, a couple of us tried to organize a 'competitive server' in uk5-8 [meself, floobie, aenaes, godsmack, kopped etc. Was going well for a week or two, then gone. Nothing. I tried to make rooms, put in my xfire comment that I was hosting. Nothing.
Same with Aenaes' pug vent. Him and Mart tried to hold pugs, I tried to get people to come pug, Aenaes organized drafts by himself. We had 1-2 weeks of 3/4 pugs going at one time altogether, then fell to nothingness again.
This is what happens every time something tries to be organized. There only seems to be a small proportion of people that give a ****. -
Well Rust, i understand what your saying. We actually had something going in the past tho! I still remember Marts opening speach for the first ever draft, it was so fun. That brought me into the community, i didnt have a clue what a draft was and i was ****ting myself. :L
If we can turn this small proportion into a larger proportion, then maybe we can actually get somewhere? Idk, i just think is time for change -
I just don't understand one thing , Portugal have a TeamSpeak with 5 staff's or something and everything works fine. Drafts every week , new ideas , new stuff .. Always with alot of people around there , and very active.
And pugs are always running , 1 or 2 always playing. Forgot to say , just Portuguese players.
Tell me now , what's the diferent between 1000 EU players and 200 Portuguese? And Portuguese is 100% more active than EU?
That's the point, EU's should be more creative and think , NA people speak english because everyone just knows it and EU's have alot of diferent languages and not everyone can speak english. And some of them are shy (when i was in that kind of pugs i saw it alot of times) LOL! -

There's nothing wrong with how things are ran [in general]. Its the spastics in this community. Considering the amount of people I know, there's only a handful of people I can have a conversation with that 1) won't talk shiit 2) have an un-biased opinion 3) know their limits and 4) actually have a few brain cells. -

Well, even having someone like you around actually benefits it. [and no, its a fact - not **** jockeying]. How many people from europe that didnt play in the pre uk server era havent had the chance to play some of the 'crossfire legends'. Doop, Malte, Blitzd, famous players like Luck or dren. Ye actually have a close knit community. I think most people in Europe are complete morons tbh.I mean, there are plenty of things trying to do this. The closest I can think of right now is Shut Up and Frag run by polleus and a lot of the other ESL people.
I've tried to do things in the past aswell as others. I've always been active in events or new idea's, i've always supported new stuff, i've always been active in leagues and tournies and not just giving up if my team can't win. Unfortunately, i'm one in a couple hundred. -
The real point of this thread is to really try and pull the teams together abit. We all have our opinions on different people, but i find Mart a good admin. Someone like Antonio, but hes probably way too busy to do something like this. Its just something thats needed to be said for awhile

To be honest man, I only took an active part in the old old pug vent. Lately I've being very busy, and any time I can make for CF I rather spend with my team. And as there are so many better games... any time I can spend pubbing CF, I rather spend it on other games.
I good idea is to run this thing only during the summer. I lot more people, including myself will have more time then.
AND, when the summer ends you can simply close it, until next holiday. Why close it? If it works, quit while you're ahead. Quit before people get bored or inactive. -
Mart's the worst admin i've seen.
Thankfully Antonio and Henry actually do a great job. Hell.....I think I get more people asking me for advice and knowledge of Wogl's rules and I amnt even staff. I try to help people when they actually have a problem.
Another point, most people can't give 2 craps about tournaments. Look at the amount of people 'lf wogl team'. Lazy priicks won't be make a team themselves. Myself and snookie made a team when neither of us were active. We brought back old friends, old school team mates and made what looks like a really prosperous pug-team. We do our best come matchday, we play with a good attitude and we're actually helping this community. Even if we weren't going to be making play offs - at least we're adding one more active, tough team into the fray. -
+1 Rust, im gonna add myself to this. And persuade people to give a damn also. I mean, theres random pubstars out there with beast aim also, im sure if you give someone the chance they could make it. Im just starting to see this community die, and im not looking foreward to playing pubs again.

Why close anything. When Aenaes's pug vent was up, it was empty during regular weeks of school/work/college. I'd mass-xfire spam and tell people to come pug - id get replied no thanks. I might ask for a 5v5 in 10 mins, they'd say no but still be on cf. If they're not pugging or scrimming they're obviously pugging. Why would you prefer to pub a couple hours a day instead of doing 1-2 pugs.
People don't even wait. Double vent on your teams vent and pug vent, whilst mute pug vent. Check back every 10 mins to see if teams are being picked or whatever. Instead of logging on, seeing how many are on the vent then f*cking off again and complaining nobodies on vent. HOW IS IT GOING TO BE FULL IF EVERYONE JUST LOGS ON FOR 5 SECONDS. -
