I live in the USA and I approve this statement. History teachers and the occasional person at my school gets angry when I point out that in every war the USA or western forces have fought, some have become POWs or surrendered.
And that they are losing to the Afghans. A group of guys who have far less superior weapons yet have kicked out the Soviets and soon prob the USA.
How do I put this? You cannot beat a nation who is unwilling to surrender and will fight to the end. (Dont bring up Japan. The Japanese only surrendered because the emperor did. If he had not, Japan would have become a vietnam or a afghanistan much in the same way.)
