You havent seen our FB chats
Depends who actually has knowledge. TLimes and RunnyBabbit are both good (RunnyBabbit may edge it there) but really, it isnt too hard. You just gotta find parts you want whilst looking at benchmarking sites ect and then find matching componants. Like you couldnt put an Intel i7 onto an AM3 motherboard. You'd have to find the matching socket on the motherboard to the CPU -

One thing is knowing how to build PCs and another thing is knowing how to fix them (A.K.A Technician) -
Anyone with access to Internet can build a computer. There are "Dummie" guides on the subject all over the place. Basically a computer is nothing more that a jigsaw puzzle. You only need to put the pieces together. And each piece tells you exactly what it requires to be connected to another piece.
My Suggestions: Ak-47 Custom FN Five-seveN Custom Glock-18 Adv. M110 s.a.s.s. M4A1 Masterkey MAC 10 Suppressed XM110 Spec-ops -
A Memory?
A very close friend of mine, who died -R.I.P.- Moved away from car mechanics into building computers in the 90's. He maintained that the idea was the same, only on a smaller scale. Putting parts together to make the whole. Just a lot easier and cleaner. As EMO said, building is the easy part, it is the software that is harder. -
The way you say it, you act like you have at some point done it.Anyone with access to Internet can build a computer. There are "Dummie" guides on the subject all over the place. You missed the question entirely, it was "technician" not "system builder."
In other words the person who can build the pc, and then repair the DoA GPU he got in the mail 2 weeks ago. -

I have real world experience with every manufacturer where as everyone else resorts to google. Greycloak? give me a break, I was taking advance level IT at University while Greycloak was giving advice to people based off of google results. Figure it out yourself, 3/4 of the people that give advice on these forums actually have no prior education and/or real world experience, which makes me the most reputable and knowledgeable. I have work experience at Mega Computer Systems and Canada Computers. No, not the guy that unloads the boxes, but the leading technician and sales manager. I have a decent amount of programming experience, desktop and web application which also gives me the edge.
I think it's a no-brainer thread maker. -

Get a job at Intel, AMD or any of the big computer manufacturing companies with your only knowledge being able to put together a computer by matching/fitting all the correct hardware. It's so much more, and that's why I think there's a huge gap between me, and whoever on these forums when it comes down to IT. One of my colleagues who has the same level of knowledge as me just landed a job at Intel. He majored in IT/Engineering/Software and has a pretty reputable financial background. He could easily work his way up from head engineer to CEO of Intel because of his financial/engineering major, and his work ethic.
There's another thing. I get to meet brilliant people that could possibly change the face of technology these days. -

I doubt you're even remotely close to as brilliant as you say you are. I mean, anybody that can't even spell or punctuate a word/sentence right lacks common knowledge. -

Agreed.
Just stop; because every reply you post makes you seem dumber and dumber.
OT: Limes, regardless if he is who he says he is. I haven't seen anyone give any equal or better computer advice. -
