Also clean your regsitry before the install and make sure to delete ALL Z8 folders ect.

Same as mine, but I kinda fried my MSI when I OC'd to 6.5GHZ, yes I also have a 965BE (3.4GHz stock)

which Windows version do you use? and what kind of antivirus/firewall?
And as cyberCat said... look for newest drivers espacially directx and openGL.
Clean ur registry after deinstallation (with RegCleaner for example).
During new installation be sure to close backroundprogramms.
