Help with custom PC.
Pretty much, I have $1000 to spend, need a monitor, headset, and modem.
Lets see what you guys can do
.
Would prefer an AMD system over the Sandy Bridge, but I'll accept all options.
Put all the specs, and once I order, if I order yours, I'll give you a $10 UGC.

I really feel mundane. Thanks for showing me this. I'm not an expert at computers, but I just heard in game from friends that they prefer AMD more.yes I'll help you, but first I'll give you some insight:

Intel's i5 2500k is better than AMD's most powerful processor, the 1100T x6. As you see. it gets double the performance in games because of it's stronger single threaded power. Although the biggest surprise is that the i5 2500k does better in single/multi threaded applications, yes, a quad core from Intel out performs a 6 core from AMD in programs that utilise all cores. This really gives you an understanding of how far behind AMD is.
If all you mostly do is play games, you'll see no difference with the i7 compared to the i5 (as you see in the chart)
As those graphs show, Intel is superior. -
There's nothing wrong with preferring AMD even if the performance is less. The thing that I like about AMD is that they don't change motherboard sockets every time they come out with new architecture (It's been am2+/am3 for a while, where as for Intel LGA 775, LGA1366, LGA1155, ETC)
I'll post a build in a second. I might even consider an AMD build for you considering your budget might favour it more.
Alright, thanks man! -

AMD Athlon II x2 (or x4 if you want a quad)
DDR 3 Memory - 4GB I say Kingston
SATA II HDD - I say 500GB
Radeon HD 4550 - HDMI, DVI and DSUB (VGA)
450W PSU
DVD ROM (Unless you want to burn the DVD RW)
standard black casing.
Standard MS Keyboard and Mikomi mouse.
That's also similar to my build, costing around £400 - £600 (About $700 to $900)
That build is fast, like I said, similar to mine
I don't know any sites that ship in US as I'm from England, but if you need help with parts, just PM me.

Nice build, but I'm pretty sure that it would be much cheaper here in the US.
thanks though. I'm looking to maximize my power with the money I have. I don't need to save it, its just there especially for this computer. -

Total's around $1100. I'll post back soon with an AMD build.
Damn, that builds awesome, but I know I'd probably mess it up while putting it together. I was looking at custom pre-assembled computers (ibuypower.com), unless you'd also be willing to give me a guide on how to put it all together. -

putting it together isn't hard. you get a manual from your motherboard that tells you where everything connects to. if you can't do it yourself, take all the ordered parts to a local computer store and they'll probably do it for free.
don't even consider ibuypower.
...Well man, don't even post the AMD build.
This is the one I'm gonna go with.
Thanks!
And what's your current ign so I can give you the zp?
