I haven't tried either but I heard the Steelseries 7H and Siberia are pretty good.
I'm on a Creative HS-450 myself. Sound and mic quality are both good. As for durability it has it's flaws but it won't crumble if you drop it a few times. I got mine for about €30,- I believe.

Personally if I ever got a real headset I'd go for these.

But something closer to what you wanted in price would be.

u say closer to my price range, but if u convert 120 gbp to usa dollars its about 195 dollars
thx for the links, ill take a look at senheiser in uk -
personal home use mainly
Ahh, well for that, me and KryxisAlpha both use TurtleBeach EarForce x11.
They're made primarily for the XBox 360, due to their 7.1 audio, but work (even better imo) just as well for PC. Microphone's beast too.
Game have them for £34.99, GameStation sell for them £39.99-£49.99 -

What a silly thread...
Beyerdynamic MMX 300 completely demolishes any other headset on the market.
Need 5.1 surround? Pair it with a Mixamp (requires dolby digital live output) or use Creative's X-Fi CMSS 3D-Headphone.
Of course, most people here can't afford a MMX 300...no wonder why only a few CF players have even heard of it....

Pretty funny...I bought two of them from here then later they raised the price to $330 now its $350.... -

And your still bad? -
7.1 is a gimmick, it isn't true 7.1. TurtleBeach is very overpriced for what you're actually getting; a below average headset with minimal sound quality.
It makes a huge difference when you're using a PCI sound card capable of transmitting to such a high level, believe me (currently using an X-Fi XtremeGamer 16.1)
I don't use ordinary on-board HD sound cards.
Note: I'm referring to use in other games, for CF, you may aswell use anything you can get hold of. -
PC360 is by far the best gaming oriented headSET. The MMX300s and PC350s are a close second. I personally suggest you also try the DT880s, the HD555s/595s, the AD700s, the AKG k701s or k702s or the Dennon d2000s if you wanted the best Soundstage/sound signature available and therefore, the biggest advantage available. They're infinitely superior than anything Razer, Creative, Steelseries, Plantronics or Roccat make.
