Game loads but doesn't start

I have this problem since the new patch:
When I launch CF, HGW game watcher loads normally, but when it's loaded nothing happens.
My pc doesn't freeze, CF just doesn't start. I really don't know what it is because before the patch I could play normally. I have windows xp.

Dear Kracht1

I had the same problem. My Avira blocked "Crossfire.exe". Deactivate your AntiVirus programm and test Crossfire. If nothing happens - re-install
(Maybe your AntiVirus programm block xtrap.xt)

If not maybe ur computer is just hanging on running processes. Open task manager, go to processes tab. Then scroll down till you see crossfire.exe.

End it.

Restart the program. Hopefully that will work.

Maybe you need to restart your computer?

Hey i have the same problem, but i just downloaded the game i never played before. umm i didnt restart my computer when i downloaded the game but i did now,umm i'd like to try to end the crossfire.exe thing but idk how to do it can u please explain it where is the tab thing?
and i've tryed to uninstal internet explorer 8 but i cant i go to uninstal/instal programs but there is no buttons to uninstal internet explorer.
