New project from Fragaholics
Hi guys. This is -Xion from Fragaholics. I've been working on a project for the last few weeks. Its something I tought that could be a great addition to the Crossfire community. Just let me know what you think ...
Feature List:
* Tournament Features
o Hall of Fame (Top 10 Tournament Players)
o Permissions can be set per usergroup
o Tournaments start automatically when no slots are left
o 2 Tournament Modes: Single Elimination and Double Elimination
o Filter Tournaments Displayed according to Tournament Status
o Tournament User Stats Page
o Automated brackets
o Brackets can be adjusted with skill level so its more fair
* Tournament Display
o Ranking system
o Tournament creator and last edited by notes at bottom of tournament
* Tournament Moderators can...
o Add/edit tournament
o Edit tournament type if not started yet
o Add Score type (points, wins, kills, deaths, etc.)
o Tournament mods can remove players if tournament hasn't started
o Increase/ Decrease Tournament Slots
o Pm all competitors with custom message
o Tickets system if the users got a problem
o Add players and clans
o Create/ edit/ delete announcements
* Competitors can...
o Players can remove themselves if tournament hasn't started
o Users can PM themselves the details of the tournament
o Sign up to tournament
* Teams
o Users can apply to teams
o Leader can accept/ decline users
o Team profile shows team stats
o Team list
o Fields: team website, gamertag, logo, description, etc
* Team leader can...
o delete players from his/her team
o Promote players in his/her team to Leader or Co-Leader
o Join tournaments
These are not all the features but most of them. I am gonna be needing admins to help me run this because if it actually work, I won't be able to run this alone.
What I wanted to do exactly is this : 1 time per week (we could say sunday) we could run a tournament. You gonna have like 1 week to register your team and get you players. Tournaments would start on Sunday.
Its something near ESL but only for us and for fun. All run from a website that I've been preparing for sure
No prices at the end tho. This would be just for fun.

Not sorry enough to change it.
Anyway, I think it would be wonderful except for two things: one, membership. If people actively used it, it would work. I do not believe they will, other than perhaps an initial surge of activity. Second, purpose. This perhaps ties into membership, but so be it. While "just for fun" is a good reason for those dedicated members, it will die off quickly. ESL has recognition and prizes.
It would be good if it worked

It sounds a lot like a bracket or cup, but I admire your initiative to do something for the community. I really do hope that this takes off, because you'll be sure to get many people participating if you manage it well.
