[Help] difference beetween "speed" and "control" mousepad
hallo, this is my first thread... i want to ask, what is the difference between speed and control in gaming mousepad? example in R*Z*R mousepad, there is speed and control edition of mousepad...
what is more suitable for FPS game like CF or CS ? is it control? or speed?
i'm using Razer abysus mouse , and im player with low sensivity, because i like to aim the head...
what is more suitable for me?? thx...

if u dont to give a solution.. then dont do it.... it's because im newbie here then it means u can pawn on me..

It really depends on finding the right mousepad to match the feet of your mouse.
For anything with large feet, a cloth will do, preferably a QcK+, anything but Razer.
If your mouse has small feet, you should really be looking at a hardpad for optimal glide. -
With Razor your just paying for the brand name, well that's at least 50% of the price.
And Samurai, you didn't even help joshh86... why do you "veterans of the forums" bash on newcommers as if they are newbie trash? Now that ridiclous.
@joshh86
Control pad: Better grip for your mouse, so the mouse won't move an extra millimeter if you move really quickly. Essentially, there is no slippage.
Speed pad: Very smooth surface thus allows for very fast movements. Essentially, there is no grip with this pad.
I would say get control and turn your sensitivity up or down in game. My friend got the control one, and he loves it a lot. Once again, I suggest that.
Also, that mat my friend got was the Razer Scarab, which actually combines Speed and Control for a very good price of $39.99
So you get the best of both worlds with that technology! Here is the Scarab:
http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.222969200/categoryId.35208900
But if you are willing to spend $10.00 more dollars you can get the Razer Megasoma mousepad which is better than the Scarab:
http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169418300/categoryId.35208900
And, if you want to spend $20.00 more dollars you can get the Razer Ironclad mousepad for $59.99, this is very, very awesome technology. And one of my other friends just ordered this, and he is an FPS person!
http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.219991900/categoryId.35208900
•So if you are the casual gamer I would say go with the Razer Scarab.
•If you are the medium type gamer and like playing many games get the Megasoma.
•If you are serious about gaming on your computer (Ex. Clan wars, tournaments, etc.) go for the Ironclad. -

Giving him my opinion about people thinking the will be "pro" with a mousepad lolz!
Just wanna let my point thru that you can play with a cheaper mousepad
That you don't need a overpriced mousepad of 50 dollars so you think you are pro
It's like how apple's sell there stuff
I find it sad how people are getting there money scammed, while the could have used it better for something else!
But your "money scammed brain" probably can't understand that so I will say
Look at my post I posted at the end something that was ontopic!
So don't complain!vadersd3mise wrote: »And Samurai, you didn't even help joshh86... why do you "veterans of the forums" bash on newcommers as if they are newbie trash? Now that ridiclous.

Lolz the cheapst mousepad your saying is 10 dollars worth lolz
I can get on for 2 euro's(2.9 dollars) and be better than most people that use some 50 dollars razer/steal/logitec or whatever mousepad
It's just sad and proofs my point!
People paying to much for something that won't effect there gameplay at all!
Threadstart, trust me try it your self out get a cheap mousepad and than a expensive mousepad
CLOSE YOUR EYES, ask a friend to help you with this
He gives a mousepad and you test it out!
eyes closed of course and only with the mouse you touch the mousepad
and than try the other one and than guess which was the expensive mousepad!
You will be amazed >_>
Anyway good look finding mousepads and don't listen tot the fanboys here that say go buy a razor/or a steel/logitec or whatever mousepad!
Just a get a simple mousepad for a cheap price and you will save some money to buy something else for your PC
P.s sorry if you felt like I was bashing you....I wasn't bashing you at all I was just trying to make clear that you don't need a expensive mousepad to be a "pro" -
SamuraiMoMo wrote: »Giving him my opinion about people thinking the will be "pro" with a mousepad lolz!
People who buy gaming gear are generally into gaming and know what they are going to buy when they buy it and why they're going to buy it. It's all about having a better gaming experience, not about becoming better by buying gear that's more expensive.
To these people gaming is a hobby, every hobby costs money.
If your flawed brain and broken wallet can't handle the fact that some people like to put money into what they like to spend their free time on, then you should probably not be posting in topics that are about gaming gear. -
Oh dang, since the price was at negative scrutiny, and a cheaper one is wanted... go for a brand named "Kespa" it's e-sports approved!!! Korean brands ftw!

They have very, very, very good grip. If I got one from my friend I could have sent it to you for free or something. Just shows how cheap they are... but they are very durable. This specific mouse pad is $5.99.

Lmao I got enough money to spend.
But I spend it with brains....
While you spend it because people say to, there is a difference there my friend :Pvadersd3mise wrote: »Oh dang, since the price was at negative scrutiny, and a cheaper one is wanted... go for a brand named "Kespa" it's e-sports approved!!! Korean brands ftw!

Good example of a Quality product for a cheap price!
It's not famous brand so probably the fanboys will hate on it!
Anyway thanks for sharing vadersd3mise

Your flawed opinion doesn't show that.
ultra-cheap and great quality usually don't go hand-in-hand. -

Or the 9HD if you want to spend a fortune on a mousepad.
Get a razer mousepad if you want to get ripped off.
He never asked for your crappy opinion on Razer. Get a scarab get a 9HD, compare both and come back here to tell us how bad Razer mousemats are.
Don't go for cloth mousemats, goliathus series aren't the best mousemats imo. Neither are steelseries QcK series but steelseries has nothing to do with this topic and I'm not an idiotic pre teen so I've understood you don't want our opinions on other brands, you just want to know which is better between a control and a speed goliathus.
Tbh, goliathus series are REALLY thick and don't feel good at all (it felt good when I used one but now I've got a Scarab I really think goliathus sucked). Plus the mouse won't glide as it would on a solid mousemat such as a Razer Scarab. Plus you said you played at low sens so I wouldn't recommend you a cloth mousemat. Goliathus control is good for high sens gaming, speed isn't good, for anything.
However, if you realy want a goliathus get the DA II edition, it has a perfect size for low sens gaming (the same as the Scarab, or almost) even.though as I said above for low sens a hard mousemat would be better. Maybe that's only my preferences andaybe you could prefer a goliathus for X reason.
The big advantage of goliathus is the huge size of the biggest.
Btw, I disagree with the guy who posted about scarab, magasoma and ironclad. Scarab feels better than ironclad and megasoma is overpriced (it's all about the stupid fluorecent razer logo on it, totally pointless thing for people who only care about looks, it doesn't even look good...) I've never tried it though. Scarab comes with a handy transporting folder which probably explains why it's 40€ and not 35 as it's predecessor (destructor). It's only handy if you travel alot (if your parents are divorced...). Scarab size is better than ironclad's (a bit as if scarab was 16/9 and ironclad 16/10).
Don't follow the cheap mousepad advice, the dude is probably mad over a bad personnal experience or something. Closing eyes and testing them.is stupid and irrelevant of their quality. It's all about tracking which you obvious can't determine eyes closed.
@cookie:
dam, how did you manage that? Were they second hand products? (somehow doubt they were).
And what's up with the cpu? -

I got a Control Edition. It's nice. Always preferred Cloth mouse pads. My opinion. I've played 1.6 LAN Standard, and the medium is a nice size to carry and it's just in general large enough.
Also the Xai is most definitely not the best mouse, unless your that unfortunate to be Left handed and not able to use a MX518. -

I'm left handed. Play with my right hand. Used and own an MX518. Xai's still so much better.

BTW, for the OP, I found a really cheap Razer mouse pad, if Razer is what you want:
