Servers are in different locations, thus you have a better connection in one over the other.

Odd, I don't get different pings in any of the standard 5 servers. Thought they were all located in Toronto?

Me neither. Maybe you're at a middle point with a similar distance to both locations?

brb moving competitive channel to alpha

i remember one morning(like 2 weeks ago) i got 27 ping too but when i came back from classes the ping went up to 55
