Exchange BH with a better stealth movement option and special attack?

[The Problem - What about the newbies?]

Ok, bunny hopping is something that is 100% total BS...your forcing players to perform and learn what is basically a glitch that doesn't truthfully give you a good way to win...

Sure a good BHer or clan of BHers can win a round, plant and defend it (the bomb) well, but that's the ANOMALY...because some newbie is going to get plastered because what seems like a 100% more logical option of stealth movement, Shift walking or Ctrl walking, which as people who play as GR know...isn't going to save their ass when they (GR player) hears your breath and/or see you at 50% opacity while moving...totally unbalanced to players who just can't get the whole BH ideal (which was a stupid one to begin with...)

I'm not QQin (I can BH), but it's WAY too unreliable...and even some maps don't even allow for it well or the whole thing of hoping your doing it properly while someone is perhaps watching you...

New players just don't stand a chance.

TL;DR - Newbies are placed in a situation where they can not do well playing as BL. Something better could have been done by Smilegate instead of playing copycat of other games with the glitch where it was 100% unintentional and in no way was required for normal game-mode use.

[The Idea - Let's be logical here...]

I mean come on...if you were a stealth character of some sort and you had a mission to bypass security and kill your target without being detected...I'm quite sure you'd take a stealth "Tip toe" style option if it was laid on the table with the other option of learning how to run forward (exposing yourself), then jumping (exposing yourself), and then either ctrl+jumping with still moving forward or rapid double jumping (which slows you down overtime, meaning you'll have to RESTART again)...

ANYONE can "tip toe"...even new players. And it won't increase BL's odds of winning, but it most certainly won't increase the odds of them losing because someone who just started playing the game didn't know there was a glitch that was in the game, but wasn't told to him/her in a tutorial...and now he's in a 1 v 5 situation with the remaining GR players camping the dropped bomb.

TL;DR : Walking should have always been the better option for stealthy movement for BL. It's easier to learn, and it would still be balanced if the players decided to take it easy and walk the map to remain masked (as he could still be heard, even with a breath down).

[An upper - Hey, the knife really sucks. Lets even the odds a bit]

Ok, I'm going to take a page from Halo on this one, but add the page with something that is done in MM.

So, you walked your ass off, and the choob spray baby on GR didn't notice that you snuck behind him...

*GOINK* 100% chance of a 1 kill, with a special "I slit your throat! HA" animation with you being 90% invisible to other players, as well as the now dead player NOT showing up on the kill list, mini-map, or tactical map for a full 3 seconds after the body drops...the best way for a GR player to defend against such things would be A) Put his back to the wall or B) Work more as a team across the entire map instead of just the plant spots.

Players can achieve this by using the MM modes special ability style by pre-activating the special attack by hitting the "G" button. 1 use per round, + if it's not used in a certain time period, the player reverts back to the normal weak knife slash ([NOTE : Something would have to be done about the shovel, kukri, and Katana...not much of a problem with the Axe.])...you fail during your lunge/backstab...you'd more then likely to get blasted because the SPOP/STAR you started feeling up (haha rule 34 :p )slaps your face clean of your head...

SO...I really want to hear the REALLY GOOD BHers I want to hear your take on the idea (and not those "I don't speak English" people who want to say "well, they no gonna add et cause weez juss copy udder versions I iz BR/Turk/W.E"...go spam elsewhere thank you very much...)

Discuss...add anything better, tear it to parts about issues. This IS the suggestions forum, ya know.

  • Sure, it's a'ight. I mean it is a balanced way for the newbies to learn the game and not raging...
If you ask me, I can BHop while I am looking in the front, then change my style to backwards, and then I can change it from backwards to the side, so yeah, I think I can express my opinion being a somewhat "pro" BHoper. ;P

My suggestions: Intervention, U.S. SOCOM Mk 23, Desert Eagle Crystal, PP-19 Bizon

  • They may have put it by accident but its the thing that makes Gm fair.
  • personally I never knew about it on my first days on cf( but even so ghost side was the one getting all the people and still my fav), then a bit of wandering about on forums and I began to learn it so I dont think its a bad thing neither that it should be replaced(its like an essence of the game itself, a stupid one but still important).

The only thing i think is needed is that the basic knowledge (like bhop and pinpoint) needs to become a bit easier to learnor more accessible(check this thread: http://forum.z8games.com/showthread.php?t=145997), so if this tipe of knowledge is more accessible ingame it wont be sooo unbalanced for newcomers

maybe im going off-topic now but i tend to notice that alot more people know bhop now and its almost impossible not to come across a bhoper ingame(if u actually play GM), a couple years back I would be lucky to see a guy even doing a failed sample of a bhop, even a pinpointer would be hard to find.

as for the special moves, i dont like it, imo it doesnt fit the game, its just my opinion though and i got no other argument to back it up, it just wouldnt feel right.

it would seem to much to splinter cell with invisibility coats then actual GM

as for the special move hmmmm, lets get wild here XD, how bout a slide movement(invisible one with a rechargeable thing) like on the attack, it would require skill to use effectively like the bhop and it isnt an OPed kinda movement
  • If you can't handle being in Alpha, go to Delta. If you can't handle being in Delta, Go to echo 8.
    Note:Echo 8 = No Spops/stars, M12/Scrubs, Armor of any kind.

Listen here...we're not even talking about playing with certain people or not. We're talking in the fact that NO ONE started the game knowing about bunny hopping, and the fact that they are forced to learn something so oddball and unreliable instead of REAL stealth (yes, let go bouncing down the West Wing and hope they don't see us...) system like creeping...

Tell what you said to someone who just started the game today, and they'll never play GM again, and that would be SGs fault for not play-testing the mode enough.
  • i cant bunny hop so i fail at g.m so i dont play g.m its thateasy xD
