why do you want a crosshair on screen, even crouching and openscope shooting misses the target most of the time, it only helps really if youre learning to quickscope or you have that hack which prevents any recoil... -
this is called "dotting" and is a hack......
software or other wise, (marking the monitor itself)...
it allows a player to line up the shot before zooming, that way all they have to do is hit right lick and left click at the same time... wala!! instant rail gun....
as i said, it is a hack, no matter how u do it... any one who thinks otherwise is lieing to them selves.....
just practice quick scoping, youll get a feel for where the crosshair is eventually. -

lol putting a dot on ur screen is no form of hacking. It's not a hack, it's a cheat.
Most people use it to practice quickscoping.
Its not a cheat either. Its an "aid" more less. Theres nothing wrong with it. (i dont have a dot there and 99% i dont quick scope. Never needed to.) -

but I understand your point. -

I wouldnt say its up there with a modded controller. The dot doesnt make you shoot faster. -

Hack irL... I am using the term "hack" loosely... as in, its a modification that adds a element to the gameplay that WAS NOT INTENDED, and that gives a player a advantage.
Cheat or hack, whatever u call it. its unfair...
I am a veteran insta gib player of about every scifi shooter out there... if i dotted my screen there would be next to no stopping me.
THERE IS A REASON there is no crosshair while u are unscoped.. because if it was there then players like me (with instagib exp) would roll every one out there... adding your own crosshair on the screen (with a hack or with a marker) simply puts a element into the game that was removed for a reason. and is not allowed... if not by any written rule, by any one with half a sense of fair play. -
buy waterresisrent pen ... draw a dot on mid of ur monitor ... o.O omg cheat. btw some grafik-driver can draw frame-lines on ur screen. cheater industrie?!?
In role-playing games one of the most popular methods is using "trainer" programs, which usually greatly inflate a player's statistics or attributes. In strategy (real-time or turn-based) games, similar programs are often used to maximize player's own resources, or weakening opponents. Modifying game data files is also a popular way to cheat in games. This mostly applies to computer games. (lines from wiki)
oh lol farmer are legit here. dot on screen not *..* -

But this isnt a scifi game with instagib exp and im sure quite a few people use it and I havent seen anyone that is so amazing i cant stop them.
100% not a big deal. -
They removed the Crosshair from the sniper rifle for that reason...lol putting a dot on ur screen is no form of hacking.

Even if you put a crosshair in the middle of your screen, the sniper would still miss unless its at point-blank range. The are where the sniper's bullet would hit out of scope is random.
Not if you zoom first, thats why people quick scope. no scope is a bigger deal for that reason. when you right click first the crosshair goes to the middle where the dot is, so if you have a crosshair on your screen you can line it up close range or medium and quickly kill.
IT is a form of cheating, if you practice enough ur brain will auto line it up without the crosshair. That is called skill -

I know that. But if he wanted it for no-scoping it would be useless. -

This is just simply practicing your AWM skills. It is not illegal and doesn't violate any rules. It's just a way of helping yourself build skill and become more accurate. And I'm not lying to myself... IK the rules

Im just wondering why they did not ban him yet. Maybe out of pity^^
Concerning the "advantage argument":
There are many ways to get an unfair advantage in a FPS game. Better mouse, keyboard etc. Marking a dot at your screen is one of them. So this argument does not mean anything.. -
Think about it for a moment, would you in a competitive scene like WEM's games, bring a marker to put a dot on your computer's screen?
Probably not, and if you did chances are the other teams would ridicule you or just kick you out.
If you can't train yourself to QS or aim a sniper without aid, then you really shouldn't be using a sniper.
