Between soft and hard mousepads?

Tried to google,didn't find exact answer.

Softmats are soft, hardmats are hard.

Think softmats are more for optical mice but they've developed fairly and will work with both.

The soft ones have better tracking for optical mice. Using the hard one is like using a book as a mouse pad for an optical mouse. It s**** and lags

Yea. For gaming Optical mice dont move well on hard mouse pads or you can get one of those paper thin ones that razer makes

I have a soft mat. The reason I'm not using a hard mat is because I haven't found one big enough yet. I like having a bowl of pasta on the mat so I can eat while I'm waiting to respawn

Lolzz, optical reads better on softmat then a hardmat? Since when? It's the surface refraction that matters, how it feels is a matter of preference. lawl.

i use a deathadder. i have the back of a notebook (the cardboard part) duct taped to my computer desk for my mouse pad.

Doesn't matter, the hard/soft debate has to do with the smooth/coarse debate, smooth mousepad = smooth glide hard to stop. Coarse = requires more effort to move, but good friction so the mouse can stop on a dime.

You should choose your mouse pad, which one you like more. Some people can't stand how the fabric feels on your skin. So they usually chooses hard -one.
I myself do like fabric, but I have so small area to use mouse, so (like said earlier) I had to choose Razor's big hard mouse pad and it's quite nice also. ^^
Just pickthe one you prefer more. ^^
