I need a keyboard...

At least consider the Black Widow. It isn't that loud, and it has illuminated keys.

I honestly think it's your best choice. You'll be getting a gaming-illuminating-mechanical keyboard (that isn't too loud)
Pretty convincing review.
Only annoyance is the typing sound and the US layout. Its a close call between the 2. Still more leaning towards a G110.. I guess I can see the advantage to a mechanical keyboard.
My keyboard atm isnt mechanical and pushing 3 years old..Only problem is that my shift key sometimes gets stuck. just like to throw that out there -
Razer Lycosa, Illuminated key's, WASD cluster/ FUll/ Off
0.1 MS response
Has USB slot built in along with mic and headset jack, rubberized keys.
70 bucks!
1 of the BEST keyboard's Ive had
Tempting.. cheaper than the Blackwidow
But I think I prefer the blackwidow overall -

Still don't see why you don't like the typing sound, It is much more pleasing, and it's also one of the reasons why people type faster on mechanicals (tactile feeling, responsive sound)
I didn't say non-mechanical keyboards break after 2 years use, I implied they get lots of wear and tear to the point you don't want to use it. The thing with mechanical keyboards (excluding the gaming ones) is that they're built like tanks, and there is no aesthetic or performance difference between one that is 2 years old to one that is 10 years old. -

Its too loud... Though if im wearing a headset it wouldnt be too bad. I can close my door if it bothers my family and besides ill probably be moving out soon to my university so yeah. The blackwidow is tempting.
The g110 does look messy. Ill guess Ill go for the Blackwidow. £60-£70. Thats pushing my money limits xD
If I hate this keyboard.. im coming for you -

I had black widow, The rubber on keys tore off, twice. The lycosa is the only 1 I havent had 1 problem with plus you can make a macro with ANY KEY, The reason I chose this board was the lighting, rubberized keys, I don't like tall keys I like short ones and ofc it's razer
but seriously though, lycosa is better then the black widow and has almost all the same features, imo -
