  • lol @ first pic "i dont wanna make you cu.m"
  • Exactly the same as normal.

cant u see the difference between 1440x900 and 1920x1200?
  • That's your screen's resolution running at 1900x1200, not CrossFire. As soon as you open CF, the resolution goes down to whatever you're running in your in-game options.

It's like sticking a DVD into a Blu-Ray player, it doesn't make it a HD DVD.

    look the image properties
    its real 1920x1200

if i choose 1440x900 as resolution and make screenshots i get 1440x900 pictures, even when im on a bigger screen ;)

Playing Crossfire maxed out is like going full speed on the high way with a Toyota Prius.

the point of this is that 1920x1200 is here but its not possible to choose it at an unmodified client :(
and im a big friend of playing games at the native resolution of my monitor, not @something deep below

Basic English translation: You're gonna look fairly dumb, slightly gay, and it'll be fun for all of 5 minutes.

Wth, how did you do that

    i did not do that
im not capable of doing these things since im a hardware technican in first line
a colleague of me is the sofware specialist, he has better knowledge of these programming things

he sent me these screenshots, i found them today in my mail and i wanted to share

i think its very impressive

Ask him to make a guide on the forums ;)

well i will, but as far as my knowledge goes im not sure if this allowed since i think he modyfied the client in a way that is basically "hacking"
but since this does not affect the experience of the other players i have no problem with him doing this

@ guide: he is not looking or posting on the forums
... he does not even looks at the news page
thats why he missed so many ribbons lol ^^'

    I wouldn't consider it a hack.

im not sure how he did this
he didnt answer my mail yet

technical it IS a "hack", im pretty sure, since its a custom client modification...
i also want to know how he did it
but i fear i wont understand it anyway since im not into coding and reverse engineering Xp

maybe the z8games-staff can talk a word to the smilegate developers about these things:confused:

to be honest i cant see why we dont have some option to choose our resolution to something above 1440x900 without modding...:(
  • What do you expect? This is CF lol. They take years to fix bugs and even more years to bring in obvious features.

they added good technical improvements every game
    remember:
    -Badges
    -Quickjoin
    -Friends system
    -Windowed lobby
    -Fps improvement (the 3D.cab thing)
    and other things

i hope they will add proper resolution support in the next patches :)
    Nice Photos :D:D:D
    thank you :)

Oh I'm sorry. It seems tough to reach both ends of what the people want. When they work on patch content and only few bugs are fixed, people get mad 'cuz there are too many bugs. And when they Spend most of their time fixing the bugs, people complain about the patch having such little content. They have to balance out their time and make sure that bringing content in doesn't cause any bugs, but when they are testing the content, there aren't any bugs until it occurs during the patching. Which is why people are always bashing on the patch, wondering, "Why would CF release a patch with so many bugs?"

And some features are on the least of their focus, if they focus on features and not maps/weapons/etc., people will still bash on the patch. And the features they seem to focus on are game additions (like things to do with UI, badges, missions, etc.) rather than functional features (options).

But also, I personally think they should hire more Devs so that more of these things could be done.

most ppl are mad but in fact they do a good job
usually every month new game content, new technical content AND some bugfixes are a respectable service for a free to play game

there is always space for improvements, but....
    they do well

this is said way too few here
  • If someone not on the dev team can set the resolution to full HD without access to the source code, the question arises whether the dev's could do this in about a day's work?
[HINT] I'd celebrate the occasion by buying ZP [/HINT]

as i said, i dont know how exactly he did it
but it seems its not much work for the devs....
  • Those screenshots at 1920x1200 STILL look like ass.
You're better off playing it at 1024x768, 24x FSAA, with 8x Supersampling AA for true 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 quality massive AA...

But 8x supersampling AA tanks the framerate too much, if you walk through a smoke grenade, or are at those weird lightning things on the bomb site generator areas in Ghost mode, even on a HD 6990 or GTX 580 (really only an issue in Ghost mode), so better to use 8x Adaptive AA (although it's not like there are any semitransparent textures or alphatextures (like fences or tree leaves) that need AA on them anyhow...
  • Falkentyne just ate a dictionary for breakfast, with a side order of thesaurus.

for quality belongs u are right it does not look good but the major thing that FINALLY 1920x1200 is technically possible
much better than 1440x900, especially if u play on a 26" screen whose native res is 1920x1200 ;)

when i played with 16xQFSAA and x16AF FPS was still ~200
since im not a fan of MSAA or eiter SSAA i dont use these

the thing that looks ass are the low res textures... :(
also this game lacks of PROPER shaders, VFX details and maybe some bloom effects...
  • Guessing by the quality- my BS meter is off the charts. I say it's just scaled using an editor...

Oh, yup. I can confirm. Look at the text size, notice how it's blurry? If you truely scaled it to 1900x1200, the text size would stay the same, and should appear still crisp and clear.

    My initial thought.

I decided to give him the benefit of doubt/ride it out.

    thats what she said....

ot: yeah, its jst zoomed in...i mean look at the size of teh scar (nt even gonna go into the fact it's a SCAR) its HUGE...i.e. NOT NORMAL SIZE

i.e. just zoomed in, not larger rez.
