South american / brazilian server
I've been checking the previous treads about server in south america, and i think it is a reasonable option. About the terms of the game (the fact that z8 doesn't have the rights outside UK and US), this is no excuse. I was checking a CF private server lately and they HAVE a server in Brazil (they use the same CF client, have the same name but aren't the same company - so it's sort of illegal, and they are actually having legal issues with z8 games). I think it's safe to assume that latin americans (not only brazilians, but ppl from colombia, argentina, chile, etc...) are a great fraction of the total amouth of players. Besides, it seems that Brazil is an expanding market for some reason. There's not a single game i enter without at least two brazilians/colombians chatting in portuguese/spanish. Furthermore, these people can't speak english, have sky-high pings, and kick every non-portuguese / spanish speaking person - in other words, really annoying ppl. Therefore i ask: what is the REAL reason that south americans (aka laggers) don't have a server?
South US servers are no solution for this problem, as some might say. Proposing a solution where latin americans play in these servers is just moving the real problem from one server to another.
For those who don't speak english: google a translator.

i meant when they bring the south american server topic into discussion

The issue with licensing is 'potential money coming in vs. cost for purchasing the rights for that region'.i meant when they bring the south american server topic into discussion
i pretty much think they are discussing "what the hell we will do in the next patch to attract more people into this game to pay our salaries and feed our children?"

The company currently owning the license (in general terms of course), will want the most money possible for the product they're selling.
The company wanting to buy the license needs to be guaranteed a revenue stronger than the licensing fees, which he won't be since company A will ask for as big a sum as possible.
A general problem with the whole licensing system, which makes things move slow until both parties feel accommodated.
Whether or not this is the case with G4/SG, I couldn't say. Its none of my business. -

Yeah, yeah. Well technically, Z8 is making a lot more money by leaving it the way it is- adding a server would just cost more- with hardly anything in return.

The server has been taken down and moved several times in case you werent aware. Its difficult and expensive to keep on top of these things.

Ive already discussed this with you. You dont need to have an IP changer in crossfire anyway. Dont have it running. End of story. -

I really hate playing against laggers. Hardly anyone has less than 150 ping on the servers. This the main problem.
I'm just saying that: if a company that just made a copy of the game managed to put a server in south america, what is the difficulty? I have a server at my company, it's not that hard. it doesn't have to be an cutting-edge server either, just to improve gameplay.

The difficulty is the license and the benefits of a server in South America. There is no motive to do such a move.Where did I insult you?
