HD6970 and 1440x900

hello recently i got new GPU , gigabyte HD6970 2gb, as i got 5770 i could set ressolution to 1440x900, but with HD6970 it says ressolution not supported and i can set only 1280x800, after changing GPU i have reinstalled whole win7 x64 and installed fresh game so no problems with win or crossfire, only why it doesnt allow me set to 1440x900??

Im assuming your monitor supports that res.

Have you updated the drivers?

i have all latest gpu drivers, all windows updates, everything in system is ok, if i put back 5770 it allows me to set 1440x900, but with 6970 only 1280x800 and its not fullscreen but some crappy super widescreen picture, so now im using 1024x768 to get fullscreen gameplay but it doesnt look so nice when i had 1440x900, and my monitor supports 1680x1050, could it be that crossfire doesnt understand newest gpus?

Have you tried changing your display's native resolution?

Right click on the desktop, the go down to 'screen resolution'.

Set that in accordance with your desired CrossFire resolution.

Have you tried to download your monitor INF files, so that shows up your model and not Generic Monitor or something like that i dont think that this could be the problem, but you can try....

but has CF ever tried adding at least 1 new resolution to this game ? since when ? there was / or perhaps there still is a very old STICKY thread (over 1 year) with a poll as they were very keen to find out what resolutions we would like added to cf

and guess what - during 1 f*****g year they were not able to add 1 new resolution at least.

found my problem, disabled in catalyst option: us extended display identification data(EDID) and now no problems setting max what crossfire allows to set

hey mate - thanks for sharing this out
although this did NOT fixed my resolution issues with CF, at least I am able to play the game in a WINDOW again.. not sure how to explain

since 2 patches ago I was not able to do this anymore, so the game was running FULL SCREEN on my 24" display - but @ 1280x800 resoltuin, cause CF is too lazy to add more wide resolutions (1440x900 is not supported by my monitor?) .. so in fact the game runs @ 1280x800 stretched to 1920x1080 - and looks just horrible; but now at least I can run it in a window again, so it will not look stretched

yea, it would be great if CF add support of 1680x1050 as its my native resolution, but 1440x900 now what im running stretched to 1680x1050 is better than 1024x768 stretched i had after geting a 6970

this game definitely needs to support more resolutions than just 4...
