    Lehman Brothers

No not the Lehman Brothers. The Lehman Brothers went bankrupt in 2008. The reason the NFL gets more attention is because America doesn't specialise in one sport, the government in America supports all sports where as the government in Canada mainly focuses on hockey (sounds silly but financial statistics show this). That may fall into the media category. Basically all it means is that in America you have the opportunity to go to a great college, play college football then possibly get signed to the NFL and have a very sturdy salary. In Canada? either hockey or nothing, you might get lucky and get drafted to the states. Want to play CFL? have fun playing in the CFL and working at Tim Horton's in your spare time just so you can live.

Sports are much bigger in America than Canada, that's why it has a wider viewer span. Bigger because the government puts more money into them.

I'll agree with you. Because I know nothing about Canada..which basically answers the OP question lol.
But NFL is big in America because, didn't they create GridIron?

That's kinda true but not complete, it's not the sports are much bigger, but it's 10 times harder to get sponsored and to start a career in sport (else in hockey) in Canada than Usa, most of our athletes run to other countries to get support then end up not coming back to Canada later, but in Usa at time you show you have success you'll get sponsored and helped by the government. But can we keep thinking that even in Canada we has more sports than just hockey ? XD I watch (European)Football more than hockey -.- and there's also the volleyball that has some views to. But well you get the idea i guess.

that's not the only reason. who would want to follow a league with 8 teams?
  • This is the way it happens... population+ government support+money+media = success
  • ASK something about Canada and i answer for ya (not too hard tho). :)

I dont pay too much attention to celebrities in general, like if you ask who is tom cruise for example, i say yes, but if you ask me about his biography i would say no i dont know anything about his life except the fact that he is an actor.

I didnt know he is candadian but like i said i dont know much about celebrities. I just know their names and how they look, period.
  • Ehem. Notice he is only cutting in like 6-7 groups of people. 95% of the people he interviewed were disappointingly knowledgeable.

Sad to think all Canadians are naive enough to believe this crap.

    ^^^ See irony? :D

It's better to be in a country that "doesn't do anything", that way you dont have a bunch of haters like the US has

I mean I know a few Guy's from Canada and they always say that they Love it But all of Their Good Looking women are leaving to come to the USA To sing or be actors lol.I mean Look at Shania Twain she is From Canada and Yes she can sing but she is also a Beautiful Woman and she moved here to sing Country Music and she has done well at it.

Just curious, but how does being free relate to the <1% of the population the leaves in pursuit of artistic appreciation? Also, if all our good looking people became singers/actors, we must be one ugly nation since we only have a handful of well known artist...

  • Nothing since there's 2 national sports in Canada and hockey is one of them.
    Hockey and Lacrosse.

    what about curling?
It's not a national sport, it's just another sport we are known for I guess.

'Cuz on my geography test, the bonus question was "What's Canada's National Sports?" and the answer was Hockey and Lacrosse but a lot of people put down curling so he accepted it as right but wasn't the real answer.

Well, it's one of the few sports our National team excels in. Everything else we're basically embarrassing to watch :x (Our soccer team is laughable :o)
