The MG42 is a general-purpose machine gun used in Germany back in World War II. It was produced in 1942 and had an effective range of 1000m.
The MG42 is a GP Black Market item.
My other ideas:

This is a waste, one the MG-42 (Machinegewur) was only used in the world war 2 era, JUST THE WORLD WAR 2 ERA, and two, THE MG-42 IS A HEAVY MACHINE GUN, IT'S NOT IN ANY FORM LIKE THE M60, RPK, OR FN MINIMI, it maybe like the gatling gun but the gatling gun sucks.

Actually, it says it's a general purpose machine gun not a heavy duty explosive RPG launcher. It doesn't look like a massive turret nor a piece of waste either. I like the gatling but you're saying that gatling gun sucks but possibly you need to be more skilled in CF rather than crying about everything. Oh, and your caps is on!

Because it says that the MG42 is 1,200-1,500 rpm which is higher than P90 which has 900 rpm and the power being too low is fair for it having a very fast fire rate. -

I've been playing on a friends account for 3 months that has a gatling gun, used it twice, both occasions sucked as the gatling gun sucks, and no, you need some skill to aim man, L2Aim~ -
Why not just use the modern MG3, which is the MG42 incarnate?
I think alot of people want this gun because of what it symbolizes. I know alot of German friends that know about this gun, and want it, because of exactly that reason.
The MG42 is so influential and symbolic that is still debated over and talked about today. People find even miniscule details about the gun to congradulate. -

Well it's merely useless for all modes
TDM: Hevay gun,no mobility.
SnD:The same.
GM:The same.
MM/HM: Lots of ammo but the combination of low power and high speed make it useless(ammo will end quickly without doing serious damage to the mutants).
So -1 from me.
Also we need MODERN guns.
The only gun WWII I wuould +1 is the M1 Garand.
Forgot to mention.
Too high recoil.

His stats are accurate on the gun. Giving it less recoil more power etc would make an entire new gun. It is suppose to be burst fired med-long range, and close range it is deadly and pretty much wins against anything. Also yes I agree use the modern MG3 not this old thing.

No one ever buys GP crate items except for the D.Eagle Camo, and Anaconda Adv.
??really? here is a basic list seen in & out of game lobbies almost daily on Crossfire: [Random Name] just won the Steyr Aug-Camo[From Black Market],[Random Name]just won the Thompson.[Random Name]Just won Berreta AR-70.
makes sense since the hot crates are the Easter ,Thompson/Winchester & the XM8-Adv crates.
imo:D.E.C , M16-Scope and Anaconda adv- are least favored crates.
OT: why would a machine gun have the Damage Rate of an mp5 Yet the speed of a p90.
imo: would not be recognized as a gp black market crate
also we already have the M60,M60-Adv,RPK & RPK-Gold. So there is really no need for them to include this certain gun in Crossfire.

Would you mind taking your caps off. It means shouting, and you can't just put all the MGs down to shame. I think they're very underrated and the only noob cannons there are are the Scar and M12S. Yeah, at least they're not heavy nukes, missile launchers or RPGs.
Geez man, why do you have to get mad out of anything about MGs. No offense but if you're complaining about the MGs are for noobs then simply either leave CF or learn how to play. There's only about four orignals and over a dozen rifles and SMGs. At least I don't cry about MGs, gatlings and other op weapons. I'm glad that you aren't one of those people who shout at other people who keep their caps at full whack and qq about "[Weapon type/name] is a noob cannon. You have given some good critisim. Now for the responses.
Well since we have a dozen rifles and smgs we could need this gun in some case. And you're right, there are lots of people who win other crates as Beretta, XM8 adv, Thompson and more but it will be recognisable as a gp crate because if you ever click the gp black market, you will see the banner for that on the top if it was new. Also if it ever came out it would say on the main page the new gp crate. -
