They hear a random noise in a dark and often isolated room/building, and immediately proceed to announce their presence by yelling
"Is anyone there?"
About 70% of the time they do this while being aware that someone is chasing and/or trying to kill them. -

Nah, that usually happens after about 10 min of wandering aimlessly searching for a key plot-important item (key to the only functioning car in the state etc), and usually after they yell:MisterMunzta wrote: »And the killer is right behind them
"What do you want from me?!" or "Why are you doing this?!" -
Or, they hear a random voice calling their name, and they proceed to look for where/who it's coming from.they hear a scary sound coming from a dark room and immediatly run inside that room knowing that there is something trying to kill them -
