So... (List of should-be changes)
I'm ... Tired of being tired and annoyed of being annoyed at this game... There are so many things that shouldn't be hard to fix and would just make the game better. More polished. More fun to play. I'm going to list them off here... Feel free to add more or bump. Maybe some game changes can/will be made.
Bomb disarming from behind walls. It's impossible. Make some walls where the AoE(Area of effect) of the bomb's capability to be disarmed doesn't pass through. Or from below them sometimes isn't very fair either, you can't even see the bomb from underneath it but you can disarm it? I guess you could say they could move the bomb from there but not from behind a wall. You could actually have the bomb moved in game also, after it's planted and someone disarms it from a weird space it could hop positions.
Dragunov is not a bolt action rifle and the side-mounted Russian scopes allow clear iron sighting. Up RoF(Rate of fire) and add a crosshair. PSG should also have it's RoF increased and any other semi-auto rifles should be fast firing.
Also you can give all the sniping rifles a sort of broad crosshair you'll be shooting within if you no-scope fire it. You can aim a rifle in your arms without needing to see a sight or look through the scope and you're generally going to hit a person-sized target within 15ish feet and probably hit them within a few shots at 30 feet. (That'd be the size to make the crosshair, large enough to fill out a person's body at around 15 feet and fires anywhere randomly within that area, not necessarily dead-center if you're standing still but not impossble either.)
Incorrect gun attributes. Some guns have incorrect amount of rounds in their magazines. Dragunov is almost always a 10 round mag weapon. AK's and M4's are 30 or 40 round mags commonly. AK-74 is a 30 or 45 round gun. Galil is a 35 or 50 round gun (You got that one right I believe, just adding it for reference of a gun that actually has a 35 round magazine.) Anaconda is a 6-shot but the adv has more rounds? Why not just up the damage and call it a .500S&W?
These are seemingly small issues that could be easily fixed. Just take almost all the 35-round versions of guns and up them to 40 rounds. Some have seemingly incorrect damage also. There are a LOT of .223 guns in the game and my absolute most hated is the Famas. Why does it do less damage than the other .223 blasters? That doesn't make any sense.
Shotguns can fire ammo other than 20 rounds of birdshot. When you hit someone within 20 feet with a well placed shot they should be absolutely eviscerated I'm talking like 1000 damage, I'm not being funny here. Of course it depends on how many shots are hitting where and you can reduce damage and increase the spread as it goes out but 30-60 damage is less than nothing, it's a bad joke. Up the damage... By a lot. The semi-automatic shotguns RoF's are also pretty bad also. They should be as sprayable as a pistol just like the semi-auto sniper rifles. Just a rule of thumb: You can spray a pistol a rifle or a shotgun as fast as you can pull the trigger. Semi-auto is semi-auto after all.
Not every nook in the game has to be skinned like a jagged edge. Smooth out textures so you can climb rather than have to hop up stairs and small steps/ledges and move past pipes and corners rather than getting awkwardly stuck to them and glitched out.
Ping servers, rank servers, vote kick free servers. You obviously have some control over the servers/channels. Why can't they be split up a little more to allow for some different attributes? A ping relegated server where you can join different channels based on your ping. A higher rank or no kick server would be nice for people that don't want to play with nubs. A place to go where they can't or most likely won't be kicked and play with higher quality players or (And I don't condone it) even hackers IF they play. Sometimes hackers can be fun to fight as a good player.
I've been griefed over this before and the reverse haccusations just don't hold up and any good player knows that. It feels really good when someone's obviously cheating and you kill them, anyone who's done this knows what I mean. Take the speed hackers for instance. Some of the funnest fights I had in game were with morons zipping all over the place and then calling ME the hacker because they can't win even when they cheat.
Swear filter: Obviously a contended issue lately. At the very least can you try and do something about the words that are banned unnecessarily? Foreign words don't need to be banned, it's an English game. Having things like rediculous come out as redi???us is stupid. AFK being banned is stupid. You can ban English swear words without going unnecessarily overboard and I think everyone would agree that's more than enough for you to do.
Broken guns from crates: What the hell? I sent a support ticket and I was told it was to fix a glitch with selling guns. You can't sell 7-day guns but even if you could there's no reason to make them all broken first before you allow people to sell them. How is winning something broken winning at all? I think you need to stop worrying about people trying hard to make GP in your game and think more about offering things for people to buy.
I brake 7-day guns for GP. At the moment I have 430k GP (Down from 760k after buying guns for a ribbon only) and don't have anything to buy. Does it really matter if I'm making GP from you if I'm not actually using it for anything? Am I detracting from your income somehow by trying really hard and sacrificing my scores to use this garbage I don't even want to use and now you're shafting me on the point of using it? That's complete BS.
On that note make more permanent items, either ZP or GP. I speak mainly for myself but have heard the same opinion echoed by many other people. I don't (your players don't) want to buy non-permanent items. Especially for ZP. Crates are an interesting system but they're not that great either, I don't think I'll be buying any more of them either, especially now that the guns break. So what does that leave me? Not much. Guns I don't need because I have good guns already and...?
Nothing is permanent and I refuse to buy non-permanent items (Breath down and arm/defuse are my exceptions I've only recently started making just because it's almost a necessity and I can afford it so whatever.) No one buys armor and it's looked upon as noob to have it. No one buys all those stupid sprays, nametags and things because no one wants them. Not many people buy the stupid vanity items or XP+ items and if they do they're really stupid because they're not actually getting anything from it.
Give us stuff to buy. I want to WANT to actually spend money on this game but I just don't. I did a survey offer once, received 80k ZP for free and didn't even feel I got what I deserved for that... Again, that was for free and I like the offer I did too. Got a credit card I still use. I can't imagine what people who actually put money into this game think or feel about everything. Or if they're all just kids and beg their parents for ZP without understanding of what they're actually doing or the value of money.
There's nothing worth investing in that's not just a stupid monetary sinkhole. I wish I had something to buy with GP but I don't. Let us buy the armor and breath down and defuse. The good permanent melee weapons. Let us buy even the stupid useless stuff if we want to but let us actually buy it. Much like in the real world I think you'd find many people much more inclined to actually buy things rather than rent them. Go ahead and put high pricetags on it all. That just gives us an excuse to spend more to get more in the long run. I honestly think you'd make a lot more and make your players a lot happier if you gave us the option to buy.
Even (or maybe particularly) if you just gave it a trial for a month or something and then went back to the old system I bet you'd get a huge burst of income for that period of time while people buy all the things they've ever wanted without reservation.
Hosts should be kicked from the room if they join storage or are capable of starting the game for a certain amount of time. (Maybe 30secs?)
Foreigners don't allow people to play with them in their rooms (Viets, BRs and probably Turks) there should be some way to fix this along with the overall problems of the vote-kick abusers. Perhaps some kind of specialty way to report innappropriate vote-kicks and a way for you to backtrack who does all the innappropriate kicking.
Hit registry is really bad sometimes and has to do with bad latency a lot of the time so if they're lagging and not scoring hits that's their fault but when people are pinging well and things aren't showing up right I can't figure why that is. I hit laggers and don't get reg for it, shouldn't my hits be counting and not their messed up moving?
Also melee reg is really bad. It's ok for knife games because everyone has a bad reg and it balances out but it's worse for ghost mode when you run up and hit someone and don't actually hit. There's got to be a better way to adjust the hits for melee because I promise you if I run up into your face and smash you with a shovel, axe, knife or sword I'm not going to miss.
Perhaps just adding distance or area to the hits with every melee weapon to adjust for player being a little bit to the sides or out or above your hits. Like a swipe. Maybe upgrading the speed or attacking style to make it more realstic. Maybe make a set amount of time from when you attack/swing to when you make a hit that will hit anywhere during that time not just at one moment. Take shovel or axe right clicks for instance you hit it and move on them any time during that movement people in that area should die, it's just more realistic that way.
I'm sure you can see the stupidity of moving up on someone, hitting them right in their face or smashing right through them or moving right past them and hitting and ending up being next to them for an extended period of time attempting to hit them and not hitting them. You could just give ghosts some kind of auto-kill ability, I've been a fan of that idea for awhile. Get up next to someone and trigger an AoE auto-kill that has a rechargeable timer (Maybe just once per round even). Remove the need to actually hit at all and also balance out all ghosts, even those with just knives so they're capable of killing people more fairly and successfully.
Fix character interaction. There's no reason mutants should be able to block other mutants from getting into crates and things. Make it so they can move through them to eradicate blocking glitchers. With ghosts sometimes the soldiers walk right through them (Almost always when you're trying to hit them) and sometimes they walk right into you, get stuck and kill you. Give ghosts one or the other, make it so they walk through ghosts when they're still or get stuck on ghosts and hit when they're moving around.
Stacking is also a huge issue lately, another thing that was changed for the worse. You didn't remove stacking you only made it really hard to use people to reach places and along with that you messed up combat in game. Now you get stuck on people's heads. If you want to shove them off then make it so they're shoved off, don't get us stuck up in the air, easy targets or as a ghost you'll be hopping along and land on someone and both of you will get stuck and you're moving becoming visible and get shot at. It was a really bad change and it should be changed back or changed differently.
Breath, pinpointing and hopping. I used to think this was more unbalanced than it is. It's not too horrible except sometimes you get pinpointers just using horribly excessive amounts of volume and crying and kicking people for using regular guns in GM because they're destroying their ears. You shouldn't do that to yourself but some people do and I think it would be better to cap ghost breath completely at certain distances. Even with breath down you'll have some people shooting you from 20 feet away.
I feel sorry for them more than anything and sometimes I say "Aren't you worried about going deaf?" And often get an affirmative response but it's still an issue that could be addressed to help both soldier players thinking they need to do that to get an advantage and ghosts who should be safe when they're so far away. I've played a lot of both sides and know a good hopper can generally kill a good soldier I also know a good pinpointer with good conditions (Not a lot of spray/chatter) can generally kill a good ghost. Like I said, it comes down to a lot of factors and I think it's fairly well balanced except those moments when a ghost SHOULD get the soldier kill and they don't or a soldier kills a ghost in a way that's IMO relatively unfairly which seems to happen often enough to address it.
My old idea was remove hopping entirely and also remove breath. This would also make the mode a lot more noob friendly because you always have idiot nubs coming in and going "I didn't move." or haccusating all over the place just 'cause they don't understand how to play (some games are filled more with people that don't understand ghost mode than those that do and you'll get some really BS vote kicks) I think this style could/would work but I also think it would be less fun. There's something really fun about both sides the way it is now. Trying hard to hop well to kill people on the one hand and moving carefully and listening on the soldier side.
So... That's my list of the most annoying issues with the game itself after a lot of playing and a lot of thinking about why things are the way they are and how they could be better. Good luck with those fixes, hope to see everything changed with the next patch. ;D
It'd be a much better use of time/energy than adding more BS or making poor changes no one really wants.

Holy doo doo. 0_0 I'm actually done reading 90% of this. This must have taking you a whole day to write. XD
For some of the posts.
-This game isn't that advanced nor truly realistic.
-Guns in CF aren't suppose to be like guns in real life. Every gun can kill with one shot, so the DEVs decide which guns are better/worst.
-I agree with the texture/graphics but I don't think it'll ever be changed. It can be improved but won't be perfect.
-Agreed with the filter. o_o I think almost everyone would.
-Broken guns +1
-More permanent ZP guns. Not too much GP guns or Z8 wouldn't make as much money.
-Idle Auto-Kick should always be within 30 seconds. Not just for hosts.
-Registers. o___o Don't get me started. ;D
That's what I have to say for now.

Somewhere under 2 hours. I was doing other things between writing.
I don't disagree that it's not supposed to be 100% legit, real, perfect. Obviously not, there's a lot of silly stuff in the game BUT incorrect things with guns (especially in a game about fighting with guns) really irks me for some reason. In movies also. The main point with that is that it could be more realistic and therefore better than it is.RawrJafrikan wrote: »I agree with almost everything.
I dont think that Sound and Bhoping should be taken out, only because then the ghosts have utter advantage, and the humans are forced to resort to spray and pray tactics.
That was an old idea I had that would sort of balance things differently while changing the mode. I've since played a lot more on the ghost side of things and have readjusted my opinion of how things are balanced. I am personally not in favor of doing it that way and 100% agree that it would be a total sprayfest while moving to areas and then a lot of camping most of the time but thought I'd add it just because I still believe that it would be a balanced mode...Just balanced in a different way. I believe M.A.T.'s ghost mode is done like that and I tried it out and didn't really enjoy it.
Thanks for the support, both of you. I'm just glad some people took the time to even read any of it. I thought it was a bad sign when I looked at what I had finished and thought "Man... I would TL;DR this and I wrote the damn thing." Haha. -

what he said although id make auto kick for 45 seconds since some people have like 15 guns to sort through to get to the one they want -

No no no...think of it this way.
When you walk as ghost, your like 50% visible.
...that's something anyone can do. PLUS, the ghost breath would still not be changed. a loud or stupid GR player would be at a disadvantage just because he wasn't playing well. That's a lot more balanced then it is now, where you have to rely on a glitch that doesn't work 50% of the time and you can't fully control your movments when you do it...(you don't see them bunny hopping in the GM CGI video, do you? Nope...)
And as for the mapping aspects, he hit it on the head. All I see is lazy mapping and map design...something like this is typically something a novice mapper would make...all the S&D maps have some sort of balance issue against BL (Hey, lets have them walk up 3 different sniper allys...with one cover spot that can also be sniped one [EE] or let's have them have 5 different sniper allys to run up with one 1 path on the entire map where it's not a possibility, but if they go that route they can get back camped on [Downtown]).
And as for the TD maps...all of them are mirror maps...I can SLIGHTLY see why, but there still is not REAL reason for it to be like that...having one side different from another is not going to throw the balance out the window. -

Specialized bhoppers can make it work 100%.
I think it should be kept.
Or else ghosts would really be in disadvantage. -
Remember that in CoD all guns seem to have a lack of recoil so...CoD...every weapon pretty much is a 2-4+ shot kill...no one QQs except the noob losers.

Fixed.
Everyone's equal.
CoD is the definition of failure.
Don't even mention it.
If the game used real life mechanics...
Remember we have a really bad community.
A M60 shot would be able to cut you in half IRL.
So everyone would stop caring about recoil and would just take the most powerful gun to 1 shot kill.
Would encourage camping.
Who would rush when he/she knows that he can't be killed in 1 shot?
So no.
It's a game.
No real life mechanics. -

Hopefully the Mods dont cower behind your higher level vocab and resort to their common tactic: smart aleck comment + close thread combo.
I appreciate it if you could show threads that had "higher level vocab" that were then closed and ended with a "smart aleck comment".
EDIT: pls send me a PM or a visitors message about it. Don't derail the thread.
OT: I don't think this game was made for realism, but it does have good entertainment value.
The mutant thing is a problem, but if it was set to have mutants go through each other... How would they stack to get to hard-to-reach places? I just think that blocking is just a sorry way to be playing MM/HM, and so I don't understand when kids come up to me offering to block... I don't need to hide...
The hit registry.... Well not everything is perfect, just do the best you can and run with it... It's probably something that can't be fixed in one day nor one month.
As said by Smiley, I would also like to see the M12s nerfed to make it more balanced. -
You do realize this is cross fire? Terrible during beta, still not much improvement afterwards. They are not making any drastic changes, maybe small things like removing the filter/nerfing it but the only things they will be adding guaranteed are content from other versions. They wont even look at this thread, or consider it, as they do with all threads in this entire section.
Nearly every point has already been stated, multiple times. This thread is basically just one well written combination of many many threads.
Why the hell did you not say anything about body armor? Scar L? M12? 8v8 support for small maps like Egypt? No in-game report function? New hacks coming every patch? Patches that sometimes don't work for weeks not allowing players to play the game? Overpowered pay guns? Overpowered pay gear (such as body armor)? So much more. If anything, THOSE would make the game much better, not these nearly pointless suggestions already flooding the forums. Sorry, but a nice big -1 for you.
P.S. : "Sometimes hackers can be fun to fight as a good player." Seriously? Ok you obviously have never played with a hacker, or you hack yourself. No skill can make you stand a chance against a waller/aimbotter/glitcher/1 hitter, so stop acting like you're the best player at this game. -
Thanks for the feed back.
Here is some feedback on a few things.
First off, ammo counts and other things like for example Shotguns only firing Birdshot are done because its a video game. Not necessarily based on real life.
Ammo counts rarely get changed unless its a specific bug. We'll look in to some of those counts and see if they are off.
The word filter stuff is being looked at. Some changes were made that were definitely not the direction we want to head in.
Bombs diffusing through walls. While I realize this may be a common problem in some circles it's not a problem on every map. Stuff like this really helps us when you cite specific examples.
The stuff on servers has been discussed in the past. At the moment there is no way to limit the ping on the servers. There are no current plans for a private server and the vote kick changes are controversial and hard to work with from the developers perspective. Some of this stuff is on a basis of "if it changes we will make sure there are plenty of announcements and information on it" type level.
Broken Crate weapons are done on purpose to close exploits for gaining more GP than is intended.
You have said you want more permanent weapons. Other than the odd melee weapon, or an item like the Famas Camo or Dual Colts or Dual Uzi's etc. Almost all weapons added are permanent. There will always be a balance of weapons that are permanent and weapons that are not.
As for making ZP weapons/items into GP, that is highly unlikely.
There has been no real major change to the ways Mutants stack or interact for months. There was a problem with it upon Mutation Mods initial release, and it was corrected pretty soon after.
I'm not sure what you mean by "Hosts should be kicked from the room if they join storage or are capable of starting the game for a certain amount of time. (Maybe 30secs?)". -

My problem with this is that you have to consider lagers (200 pingers, etc) and as you can probably predict, the problem would be worse than "Hacker hell" which we experience only a few months ago ( at least for GR it will).
On the maps, right on bro. Right on. I think my lil baby brother could have thought of something like that. -

Yes, I'm aware and many of them are single threads I've posted a long time ago.
I said make body armor permanently purchaseable for everyone. Then anyone who's serious about acquiring good gear will probably have permanent armor.
I don't have a problem with SLight and M12, I never have had a problem with them. I've never seen anyone using either of those weapons that did better than I do with AK's or M4's. I honestly don't think they're out of balance unless you can't play and then you're just getting killed because you're bad. Use an M12 if you think it's going to help you, that's how you not only play a game but shoot IRL also. You use what you can manage to get kills with.
The report system isn't perfect but I've touched enough on hackers and hacking, no need to reiterate, especially at a time when I'm not seeing any of them in game.
They actually deal with their patch problems when they come up. Even if it takes awhile.
If you're going to pay for advantages you're going to get advantages. In game as in real life. The good part is now you can beat people that waste money renting gear and laugh at them for doing something that doesn't really help them be better than any regular player that can shoot straight.
P.S.: Your logic is exactly what I was talking about. Those arguments simply don't hold up. You can kill wallers, aimbotters, glitchers and easily 1-hitters. You just have to be better and faster than they are. I am not a hacker, I kill hackers and I enjoy doing it. Stop crying now, you're obviously the kind of noob I hate in game. You cry about everyone that's good, you cry about weapons because you have a perceived inability to do better than them.
I'll tell everyone now: If you can use a shovel and get kills use a shovel. If you can use an M12 and get more kills than with an AK do that. Any good player doesn't NEED to use them but a smart good player would use them IF they were better with them. -

Go shoot a m12 in real life. Then try and compare it to the m12 in this game. I can guarantee you will a significant difference in weight, rof, power, etc.
Your argument doesnt hold up. Maybe you havnt seen the 1 shotters of now, but let me say that they now have hacs that allow you to let go of your mouse, and have it shoot a million bullets from the spawn, through walls, and get hundreds of kills. Yeah, wheres your logic now? You going to dodge a wall shooting aim bot? Are you super man? -

Nice to hear from someone that might actually be able to make a difference.
Shotguns: While being a game you have to understand people want to use what works. If you can't get a 1-shot close range body hit kill with a shotgun no one's going to use them. Case in point: No one uses shotguns in game. I was using a 7-day shotgun when I posted that. I blasted so many people close range for 30 damage just to be sprayed down before I could make another shot. They're not feasable to use in game.
Bomb Disarm: I sent in an actual support ticket for the one I was thinking of when I wrote this. Lab GM B site on the floor you can disarm from behind those huge walls.
Broken crate weapons: Can't you think of a better way to do it than this? That is a terrible system. People (Like myself) work hard at making GP with those guns to be able to afford things in game. It used to be we could just join matches with a knife and pick up guns during the fight and still make good GP. Or play Alaska/Crossroads and make decent GP. For people that don't buy ZP it's really hard to make decent GP. (Missions are a nice boost to your money making capabilities though.)
My suggestion for the crate weapons is just let us resell them off the bat. We don't really want to use them but we won them and we want to feel like we won something useful...
No-no-no-no-no. You misunderstood.
As for weapons yes I was primarily talking about the melee weapons. Also the few 7-day ZP weapons (AK-74U or AK-47 Krinkov, whatever it is) should be turned over to permanent weapons also. Crate guns... Take them or leave them. Like I said, I don't think I'll bother buying crates anymore. They're an annoying waste of time and you don't even make money off the 7-day guns anymore. I wasn't talking about making anything that was for ZP into GP items though.
I was saying make items permanent to increase the amount of people that want them and increase revenue. The armor, the bomb defuse kits, the specialty grenades, the sprays, nametags, the melee weapons, the stupid muzzle flash colors for all I care. You could go with 100,000ZP per pop for any of the good stuff and 10,000ZP for permanent small stuff. Sit back and watch the cash flow in.
I know. Mutant mode had a poll and it was exempt from the stacking issue that now effects the rest of the game. Happens a lot in GM or Prison with all the jumping that goes on. You get on someone's head and you're stuck, you wiggle around, neither of you can move and people usually get killed for some BS game mechanism.
MM still has the blocking issue which is also an annoying problem in GM. When you're moving you move right through people. When standing still people bump into you. In GM it gets you killed/loses you kills. In MM people block the doors and soldiers just sit there and waste time because they're too scared to play a video game.
Room hosts often join storage while everyone's waiting to start a game. They can sit there in storage for like 2 minutes while everyone's ready to play and waiting for them. It's really annoying and they should be auto-kicked from the room for wasting everyone's time. Same thing goes if there are people ready to play and the game can be started. Like 3 people ready on each side: game can be started but host isn't starting they should be kicked. Not when it's like 2 on one side and 6 on the other though, that game can't be started because of uneven teams. Or no one is ready to go on one side they should remain host. -

You understand how much weight the in-game bar is compared to real life? Haha. I've never even thought about trying to add that up.
I don't even know what gun the M12 is supposed to be. I looked it up and see a Beretta M12 which is a 9mm so it's another gun like the Famas. Why does every other 9mm in game do horrible damage and the M12 does acceptable damage? Doesn't make any sense. That being said in game I've never had a problem with it, it's just as good as any other gun.
The guns I don't like are Famas, Uzi, MP5, M9... They just don't do enough damage to even bother having them in game because no one's going to use them. At least people use the M12. I think other 9mm's need their damage increased more than M12 needs it's damage reduced. If you get shot in the head with a 9mm like I do to people with the M9 point blank all the time you're not running around with 30hp left and hitting me in the face with an axe afterwards.
Yeah, I don't like those kind of hackers because you can't fight them. I've never been a fan of walling aimbotters, there's a differentiation you have to make between hackers you can fight and kill and laugh at and hackers that just annoy everyone because no one gets to play. Just like buyers you can fight and kill and laugh at. Lots of people want to cheat in varying degrees or at least get a perceived advantage over people and it always feels good when you don't have the advantages they do or you're not trying to cheat like they are and you beat them. Do you understand? Or have you never beaten someone more equipped than you are because you're better than they are? -

The m12 has been glorified in this game.
The famas has been degraded.
Im not so sure on the m9. No offense but the gun irl has a very small range, and only serves as a side arm, as it should be. IT should though, have enough power to knock somone down within seconds if they are within 5 feet.
