The Stoned Review: The AUG Series

Sup peeps, it feels great to come back to CF after a 6-month hiatus :p. Today, I'm talking about what could possibly be the most underrated assault rifle in CF: The Steyr AUG!!

All right, let's do this.

Power:

close range- 100 to the head (1-hit kill), 31 to the chest, 34 to the gut, 16-17 to the legs, and 22-24 to the arms.

mid range- still 100 to the head, 29-30 to the chest, 32 to the gut, 16-17 legs, 20-22 to the arms.

long range- 97-100 to the head (not always 1-hit kill), 25-28 to the chest, 15-17 to the legs, and 18-20 to the arms.

verdict- one of CF's weakest assault rifle when it comes to damage per bullet... but this isn't the AUG's strong suit :D

Accuracy/Recoil: The AUG series is one of CF's most pinpoint weapons when it comes to bursting. The first 3-5 rounds always connect in the center of the crosshair, and controlling the spraying pattern is easy due to the AUG's low recoil.

Spray Pattern: Rises straight up, then curves directly to the right. This makes the AUG perfect for spraying once this pattern is mastered, and can get easy headshots while doing so.

Reload Rate: although comically slow on the reg. AUG and black market AUG at around 4 seconds, the AUG Camo's reload rate is boosted to around 2.5 seconds, which makes a huge difference in a long and protracted firefight :p.

Rate of Fire: slightly faster than the M4 and AK series rifles.

Weight: normal on the reg. and BM AUG's, very light on the AUG Camo.

Looks: being the world's first production bullpup assault rifle, the Steyr AUG has a special place in my heart . From a technical standpoint, the weapon still looks amazing, having that great bullpup configuration and Swarovski scope built in. Plus, the AUG Camo's skin fits the weapon perfectly :D.

Additional Positive: given the amazing accuracy of the AUG, even when taking long bursts, the gun's attached zoom scope is surprisingly effective for one-shotting and taking out long range targets.

Overall, the AUG should be a top choice for players for its high accuracy and very low recoil. Since it's release, it's been given a bad rep thanks to it's low power and insanely slow reload. However, the AUG Camo corrects the reload, adds 5 extra rounds, has the same killer accuracy and spray pattern, and weighs a lot less, making the Camo possibly the best current overall GP crate primary weapon.

Score (AUG reg. and BM variant): 8.5/10

Score (AUG Camo) 9.75/10

One quick thing to note about the BM version, it only comes with 35/70 rounds (by default), whereas the reg. AUG (30/90) and AUG Camo (35/105) both come with more ammo.

Have fun, and test it out on the Firing Range :D
