Weapon reloads
Have you guys noticed that most if not every weapon needs to be c0cked before your weapon reloads? Dont you guys find that useless?
Lets take COD, omg COD NUB, for example. If you spray, like 97% of the players in this game, and empty your whole clip/mag, the reload animation is longer since you need to put a bullet chamber. If you have 1 or more the animation takes less time since there's already a bullet in the chamber. I guess they did that to "punish" people who just spray and dont make their shots count.
What if CF worked that way? :O

Yah I noticed that on CoD4, same thing on CSS.
Makes the user take note of their bullet count, so it's even better in HC mode.
Adds to the realism of the game, which has slightly faded away these past few months. Are you saying that as long as you have 1+ bullets left you don't have to rec0ck it?
Since there's already a bullet in the chamber, there's no need to after you've added the new mag. -

Yeah exactly. I see no point in making the reload longer when you already have a round in the chamberRunnyBabbit wrote: »Yah I noticed that on CoD4, same thing on CSS.

At least this "realistic" thing wont annoy us like blocking, stopping power and smoke/light in GM.
@Callme
Yea ;D

No. The reload shouldn't take lets say 2 seconds if you still have 1 bullet or more in your clip and it should take more time if you have none. Its realism ;3
Everytime your character c0cks the weapon when you have some bullets left in the clip, he puts a bullet in the chamber like if the other bullet disappeared. In real life you dont need to do that since you already have one in the chamber. Its something that games like COD have. -
They've already flung realism through the window, but yeah, i agreew with this, also, the ak-47 already has this hability lol.
but the are guns that need to be c0cked back to be reloaded, like the k-2/1 (the mp5 should too) and the psg-1, so what will we do with those weapons?

CSS isn't a good representative of how to reload a gun. CoD at least gets this right even if everything else it does is wrong.
You DON'T pull the charging handle back every time you reload unless you fire the gun until it's out of ammo. You DON'T rack a shotgun every time you add more shells to it (You're basically just spitting out an unfired shell every time you rack it while it's loaded).
The Steyr-AUG has the most butchered reload animation in the game. There's a little button where your thumb goes on the grip. You PRESS THAT. -

white stars are the hottest ones? (if i remember right the red ones were the coolest ones, soooo... arent the hottest the blue ones? failogic i know, but i'm curious rofl)
OT: i think the devs should have some weapons bought to them, so they can judge by themselves how a gun is in real.
also there are many guns that can be reloaded in different ways, how we can deal with it?

They aren't going to re-do the animations for 100+ guns and reskins that are already made.
They fcked it up this bad thus far, they're going to have to run with it. -
Yeah, if cf works like this, reloads will be much faster and imma be so happy. Also i just want to suggest the reload of the m4 should be just take the mag off, plug the new one in and push the button on the left side of the gun like cod m4 or k2. When u pull the m4 out u still need to pull that charging handle that fine. IF they do that, m4 reload would be much faster now.

as much as i hate it, i have to agree with you. They aren't going to re-do the animations for 100+ guns and reskins that are already made.

Course, then, since when did CF ever care about realism as long as it didn't involve laser powered sharks... -

You do realize you've just admitted to the complete uselessness of this thread right?
I congratulate you sir. -

There's just one flaw in your reasoning.
When you empty your magazine completely, you just have to remove it, you push a button, the magazine falls and you put a new one and pull the bolt.
When there are bullets left in the magazine you change, you do not throw it. You want to keep it, so it takes extra time to remove it and put it in a different pouch, then take a new one and insert it.
Same if you remove the old mag with the new one in hand, you still have to put the old mag in a different pouch for later use.
In the end, if you take the time for both of your hands to be back on the rifle and ready to shoot, the difference is negligible, imho.
With assault rifles, the tactical reload may be slighlty faster, while with pistols, it looks slower than the regular reload.
I may be talking out of my *** but it's what it looks like to me.
Pulling the bolt each time you draw the weapon is even stupider by the way. Considering some people like to have fun switching weapon (I do it sometimes to test my ping and keep me ready somehow), they would empty their weapon before actually shooting.
ps : also, it seems that changing the mags with your support hand and then switching to pull the bolt with the other is uneffective. Takes longer and from the different *gasp* videos I've seen, isn't the proper technique.
