Restricted Server.

Now that you know our secret I'll reveal that there was never anything done to "restrict" servers in this way. We have almost no control over the ping you experience on a day to day basis. If your ping goes up and it was our fault, it is likely due to server traffic.

But the reality is there are a million things that can affect ping. The game decides to give you a number for this. The downfall is that everyone assumes that when that number changes by a few points everyone throws a fit because there was something drastic changed on the servers.

We can assure you that if we ever implement something that is DESIGNED to affect your ping, we will be making PLENTY of announcements for it.


When I play the game here not too far from the server my ping can go from 5 to 25! It's amazing how we didn't do anything and yet my ping changes.

Lag issues show up all the time, and things will stabilize and you'll see ping decrease.. or maybe it was just bad weather and your ping decided to go up by 60 points that day.
