Ping Goes Crazy, Then Crash

I was playing in a room, with my ping normally 34 and then it started going crazy. Everyone's went into the thousands, and eventually the whole game crashed. I got an error message saying random numbers like: -20195 and then i d/c'd. This has been happening in almost all of my games, and not only one person gets disconnected, the whole room does.
