Kik vote abuse/In game hack report [Ideas]
I posted the below in response to other people complaining about how the kick vote system is badly abused, however I never put this into a formal suggestion, so here it is Z8games:
Why the current kick vote system simply doesn't work:
1) Hackers generally don't even get voted off anyway, skilled players do for the 'Ace' or because their nooby team mates know nothing and think everyone is hacking.
2) Kicking 'hackers' from games does not work anyway, it's not a cure - How many people kick 'hackers' and then follow up with a hack report? That's how hackers need to be dealt with, kicking them and 'leaving it at that' means the hacker gets away without penalty and just hacks in other games.
The kick vote system simply moves the hacker from room to room (if the system worked correctly), and at present it's actually used by witless noobs and those that rage and scream 'hacker' because they never thought, that maybe, just maybe everyone is not "hacking" and that their just noob.
What Crossfire really needs to sort hackers out and the noobs that cry "hack" is:
1) There should just be an automated system (exactly like the kick vote system) but instead of being kicked or voting to kick a player, you select a players name (like now), the reason (like now) and the replay is sent to z8games as a hack report, glitch report, bug report etc. If a person is actually hacking, glitching or using a bug then a ban will follow (should be permanent and zero tolerance policy in all cases), if they are not hacking, glitching or using a bug and their are many false reports from a certain player (maybe in set timescales) then they should be temporarily banned for abusing the hack report system and sending false reports, with constant false hack reports after a temp ban then a permanent ban should follow. (Harsh? - No, these are the very people that have been ruining gameplay for many with false kiks, been abusive and are sending in false reports which are time consuming)
Or maybe just put certain noobs on 'ignore' if they send hack reports that are constantly false and their reports are ignored.
2) The problem with the above is that you still have the hacker in game hacking right? and you get a penalty if you leave, well remove the penalty for leaving the game, so if there is a hacker in game file the report (like kick vote) and then leave.
This means the hacker is reported properly, and he can't get free kills because you can leave and without penalty, also if the hacker joins other games those people can leave too (hence nobody plays with the hacker).
Also this idea would weed out alot of these noobs that knowingly falsly accuse people to get them kicked or knowingly falsely kick them themselves from their team, this would improve the quality of game play and the reputation of the game not in just in the sense that they are gone but also they can't indoctrinate other new players into a permanent state of paranoia about "hackers".
The above is a "fair and just" all round solution to clean up this game of hackers and cry babies that harass other gamers for no reason, yes there would be even more reports that there are now if this system came into effect, but after the noobs are banned/ignored this will reduce and noob reports and gamers will be more careful with this system in place.
When I posted this above idea before a few people pointed out the number of reports would be too time consuming and impossible to police, therefore impossible to implement.
However in my C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\rez\UI\UI_StateMentWnd
There is in fact the start of, or an unimplemented "In game hack report"? see below:

Oh, and If you post please keep it constructive, no whining please!
Just about everyone (even those that support the kick vote system) knows theres major abuse in almost every single game with the current kick vote system in place:
So lets try and give proper suggestions and constructive feedback to rectify the issue and improve the game.
If you are a kick voting nublet, that kicks people because "CF is rampant with hackers" or because you want ace or otherwise knowingly kick people for no reason your feedback is bound to be negative!

I love the ghosts that keep blinking into view occasionally for am ilisecond when they bunnyhop, and don't realize I am smart enough to figure out where they are going from that moment since I have fast processing skills (My aptitude tester was amazed how off the charts my reaction and processing time were XD) -

It's there o.O
to reach it:
1)go to my computer
2)in the "address bar" copy and paste C:\Program Files\Z8Games\CrossFire\rez\UI\UI_StateMentWnd and hit enter
3)scroll to the far right (if you have filmstrip on) and there it is :O -

No one was denying it's there. >_> Frankly that should at least be implemented, it's annoying to save replay, upload, go to the website and send it in to them. It really should be built into the game. That being said they do a really good job with their software of keeping hackers away so they probably don't need it and realize that. -
I totally agree with this. Only 1 flaw. Everybodys report would be ignored and also what if a hacker comes! there report is ignored. Its constructive criticism, but also pointing out a flaw. I would like that though. Sends reports but so many problems. Z8games would have to hire or get even more people to watch every game. A game can be up to 10minutes. Now everybody fakes a hack how many games would they have to watch! Just saying comment if you see there any "solution" Nice

That is so cool! If they would fix it, that would be a great new way to report hackers. Like you said, most people whine about there being a "hacker" in the game, when all it is, is that they are noobs and just don't remember that there are people that have been playing this game for a year or more and that they are just a whining noob. MODS, I doubt you could find a better way than the way he expressed it, if I were a Mod, GM or whatever, I would fix it right away because that is a great way to report hackers. Just my opinion but whatever. =pUKDissident wrote: »

So you think that this 'in game report feature' (although not implemented) was put there, even though they intend to ignore all reports? Doesn't sound quite right does it...justininin wrote: »and also what if a hacker comes! there report is ignored.
Oh yea the "HACKERS" lol, I forgot about them!
The problem is weeding out whether the reporter (the source is reliable), I suggested ignoring all constant whingers and whiny little nubs or temp ban them if they send in just false reports and if they constantly do it perma ban them for abusing the report feature then noobs would 1) Take care to make sure it is an hacker / then / 2) There would or should be only real hack reports (and less noobs that ruin the game).
And let me throw your question back to you:
"and also what if a hacker comes!" - Right now?
At best they get kiked, how many people kik a so called "hacker" and submit a report to Z8 now? I'd say very few compared to the amount of kiks per day for "illegal program". So these dreded hackers are slipping through the net right now! IMAGINE THAT! -
Kiked a number of times again today by these noobs.
Had a funny time on Alaska though -
We were playing for a while, say the score got to 6-6 (IDK exactly) and up until then the players were decent and there was no QQ'ing then a few noobs came in on my team after (rounds 6-6) and they immediately said the top guy on the other team was "hack, kik" - I knew he wasn't, so I stated he was not, then some noobs on the other team said that I hack and another guy on my team did, but players from the other team said "no they are not" anyway....
These people were ignored and the game went on fine, then on round 13, I decided to rush left (which I normally do but forgot about), so I rushed left and shot 5 players dead and got an "unbreakable", I was chuffed my first "unbreakable" on Alaska (and thats what I mostly play), I've had many multi's and ultras before, then their whole team was screaming "hack", "kik" constantly (and I knew before they even said anything, because I thought to myself "that's you kiked"), however the round ended very soon after, and I wasn't kiked (might have been in the process IDK), the the top guy from the other team (whom I defended when he was called hack) kiked me from the room after as he was host, lol how Ironic.
There however was a decent player on the other team that stuck up for me something 'Smexy' (or similar) and said "he can aim, it's not hak" etc -

If I had a nickle, dude... Like whoa, I'd be a rich gamer. They should be forced to like... Own up for being ******ed. Seriously, I'm really tired of all these gimps. Every time they succeed at kicking me just for being awesome I want it recorded and sent in as a hack report then when it's proven false and I'm validated I want like 1000GP or ZP from their account.
****suckers are really getting on my nerves... -

That would be a great system! To many false vote kicks, and each false kick from then on you are docked 1000GP, if you dont have it, you go into the negatives! -

Yeah, that negatives thing came to mind. ;D At first I was like "That wouldn't really work, you'd just have broken-gunned nubs running around knifing with -10,000GP. Screaming
'I was sneaking up on you, how'd you know I was there!?' 'Uh... Footsteps, nub.' 'F11 HACKER!'" But now that I reread it, it comes to mind "Well, how about as soon as they hit negative GP for all their asinine kicking they just can't kick anymore." Cool story, right?

well a couple different things we could do 2 improve the system.
1) put all ppl with a certain k/d in 1 server
2) any1 in the rookie ranks, must play in rookie server
3) ban brazlians-that is all i use my kicks 4. every game i go into i immediatly start 2 kick the brs -

Wow yeah. Divide servers by K/D.
Also, let's say a noob reports you. But you're legit. The mods/GM reviews it and you're clean. Well, take away the kicking privileges until he can report a real hacker. That way, less legit players can stay in the game, and they're forced to report real hackers in order to kick again. -

ya if they took away his kicking privlileges then it would really make the game acctually last -

I like the idea of a 'pro server' without any kick voting or a much harder percentage to kick vote, a server for any rank that wants to try their luck - QQ'ing would be redundant, Kick voting would be redundant as well or extremely difficult to kick and with no penalty for leaving a game if a real hacker did come.
IMO KDR restrictions don't really work for a number of reasons x can't play/play with x, farmers can play in kdr restricted servers even though they are noob, and the biggest QQ'ers I find are those with higher ranks LT's, first LT's, Majors.
A pro server - like Delta is supposed to be, but in reality it's just full of QQ'ing BR's that farm and want the 5% GP+
