Just thought of a simple but elegant way to address h.ackers
Basically my idea is that if a player has been the subject of a vote kick over a certain number of times within a specified time period the system will automatically generate a report. Mods can then review the system generated report and search for any player submitted reports. From there it should'nt take long to ID if a player is truly a hacker.
Second idea is to look to the public to become hack hunters. Basically use some form of criteria to select candidates who can patrol the game for hackers. Pay these players in some form of perks GP, ZP, EXP, etc.. Have these players frequent servers and maps where hackers are more apt to appear (Alpha/Egypt). Once the hack hunters see an offender they send a report in with a saved video along with times in the game the hacker appears. These reports can get a priority status so mods can quickly act upon them.
Third idea is let the public know if the company cares about the suggestions we make. Give us feedback on how things are progressing with the hacker problem.

+1 for your idea.. Kinda works.. But it's support team who views it.. so.. cant say they are that active... and I think the hack hunters dont need to be paid just for the sakes of having a good game without hackers.. -.- They could just play cassualy, and have fun, but search for hackers at the same time.. Their names needs to be obviously unknown, else hackers will just realize..

thanks, but I believe players should'nt have to do the job of programmers and mods. So they should be rewarded for trying to improve the game. Most companies don't have people work to improve their product without compensating them in some way. -

It works. That's why mods review cases to begin with, legit players get reported as hacks all the time (myself included). However once the mods review the video they can see who is a hack and who is'nt. -

I think giving a reward when they look at your replay and find that they are really hacking is better. -

I'm sure it would help in order to get people to do something you need to give them a reason to do so, this gives them a reason (well, more of a reason). -
Hackers are not the ones that usually get kicked.
I usually see legit players who are always kicked.
I see both unfortunately. A legit guy vote kicks a hacker, hacker doesnt get voted out. Hacker then vote kicks the legit guy, he DOES get voted out. Friggin insane -
I think that reports should have a priority, ones with higher priorities get viewed faster. How does it determine priority? Well, when someone get's a kill streak of maybe say 10-15 (mainly for the blatant hackers that don't hold back) it gives all hacking reports against them a higher priority and it tells his client to send a screenshot.

I like that idea. And it's not really that hard to do depending on how the game is setup. I also think the entire vote system needs an overhaul. If people don't choose to vote, why is it registered as a no vote. It should'nt count towards anything. They need to change that like yesterday. -

BlindRob has a directory for hack reports so I'm gonna go ahead and say no. -
That sounds good but there is a giant flaw that makes it utterly a bad choice.Stee1Golem wrote: »Basically my idea is that if a player has been the subject of a vote kick over a certain number of times within a specified time period the system will automatically generate a report. Any pro player who can play this game gets kicked often or mistaken for a hacker. Ive been kicked 4 times today out of 6 games.
Explain to me how im not going to be having a report that says ive been vote kicked on by noobs 1000 times.
Also to add to that, I believe I get so many false reports as it is with this system. Hell ive been reported by players who should have grown up bit like DaddysGirl from FITH. That 40 year old guy thought I was chamming in lab because I shot a ghost through the ceiling. >.>
That pretty ends this rant. Sorry about your idea. I give it a 3 out of 10.
As much as it sounds good. It has multiple flaws.
