Windows Movie Maker
I'm trying to create my first Crossfire Montage. I've been told that WInodws Movie Maker is quick, fast and easy to use. I'm not quite sure how to open a CF file onto Movie Maker. When I try to upload a replay file from My documents it displays this message "CFReplay20110102_0000.cfr cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Wrong.
Replay file, you can only open ingame by going in storage and choose replay.
Then you will need program for recording screen, Fraps or X-fire would be best.
Windows movie maker is great and fast, also good thing for beginers, quality is not very good thou (it can not render hd).
And if you want to make montage you should record ingame footage (replays really looks bad if you are beginer in editing). -

But I am a beginner. -
.CFR is a Crossfire Replay file - It contains meta-information about games and records player positions and actions as it was perceived on your local machine.
It's not remotely capable of being opened up my Movie Maker- or any other video editor.
In order to get clips off your CFR you need to go in-game and watch them and record them with a program like FRAPS then import the .AVIs from FRAPS into Movie Maker- or what ever else.
Unfortunately montages are not simple and easy to make.
