I recently had to reinstall CF because I had to reinstall my OS. When I tried to play the game I got a "Client Patch Update Fail" or something like that.
Going to the technical support forums trying literally everything and beyond, what seems like hours and hours of time wasted on your useless guides. It was evident that this is a bug, and that the April patch has, well, ****ed da sh** up so to speak.
I noticed I was not alone. Many people have had the same issue and have submitted tickets that have been ignored. Their threads, deleted, with no reason why.
So, this is what should have happened;
Devs/GMs/Mods realizing the April patch is messed, undoing it and releasing a public apology to those who had bought ZP items yet couldn't use it within that time frame.
Instead? This is what happens;
Devs/GMs/Mods realizing April patch is messed, or not realizing because their heads are up their asses, not doing anything about it regardless, not saying anything about it and not telling the community anything, ignoring a multitude of tickets from various upset people who have spent money on zp items yet cannot use them now and the mods will just delete anything related to it without releasing a reason why.
The Suggestion? Well this is a suggestion to current players; don't reinstall the game.
Suggestion to GM's/dev's; undo it, or fix it, or release a new revised one soon, and apologize
Suggestion to mod's; go to walmart, buy a Soul, they are pretty cheap only $19.99 on sale, so that you can stop randomly deleting these threads with no reason why. These players have wasted money, wasted time (i know i have), yet you could care less and provide no sympathy.
Do not leave us in the dark. Ok maybe you are fixing it supposedly, but not telling us anything if you are? Many people have quit because of this who are avid customers so you're not only be arrogant but you're losing money.
I dare you mods, delete this with no reason.

Oh and despite the strong climb in # of hackers, and despite the various people complaining making those threads, instead don't tell us anything about updates on getting rid of the hacks/aimbots/etc, and just delete the threads and tell us nothing. Yup keep it up doing your job well.

How immature. I am not inbred. Anyways the point of this thread isn't to rant at the gms/mods/devs it's just my way of expressing the frusteration i experienced that so many of us did.
We shouldn't be left in the dark. Also you should know that it doesn't work all the time. At times the game will get errors and this has happened to others so please shut up about it being fixed. -
It's true. I don't particularly care for everyone spamming the forums and crying about it, but the least Z8 could do it acknowledge the situation on the site and ask everyone to hold tight. But they haven't even done that, they push it under the rug.
BTW: A quick fix is to grab the files from someone else's game. My second computer was having the same problem, and I just replaced the files with this computer's CrossFire folder and it works fine. -
There are people unlike you that buy the stuff they bring out.
And z8 makes money out of it.
Also, this game is F2P, means you don't have to buy money to play it.
And for the hacks, that's the job of xtrap and not z8's.
when a patch is fresh out, thousands of people will download it at the same time
and only a few hundred will succeed at the 1st time, internet is not unlimited youknow ;3
I didn't got any problem downloading this patch, because I've downloaded it the day after.

Sorry if something I said may have been misconstrued as immature. I believe the word you are looking for is hypocrite not immature.
Excuse me? How insanely ignorant. Go to the tech support forums and see the few remaining threads on it (such as the one Wishjj mentioned) or go see the massive list of the threads on it deleted with not reason why, by moderators like you. If anything, as a moderator yourself, you should know this situation better than anyone. You're acting as if it never happened because a) you're the one who's blind or b) you're trying to cover it up for whatever reason.
The reason? I mentioned that; because they didn't reinstall CF. If you do that, it messes up for whatever reason.
Well they should be mentioned more. In fact I know Z8 doesn't do the patches for the hacks, however they could help by many ways, such as;
-Getting an in-game report function and get people to respond to them every 24hrs
-Get some mods or whatever to patrol the server enter random games to make sure things are going well
-THEY could patch 1hit hack, simply by implementing a kick function like the one in MM
-They could fix the report system so that it would be easier to kick hackers/aimbotters/etc.
X-Trap just needs to get rid of aimbots and other hacks.
Sorry if I insulted you somehow, clearly I did by saying you have no soul, but even after my plea for sympathy you still don't give it. I really respect the moderators here not because I have to but because I think you guys are awesome and sometimes you make me laugh but aside from the good-times you guys can be pretty cold. -

I don't experience the error that OP gets, but when there is a patch, it is quite frustrating. The patcher seems to only want to update one or two files at a time, before dying with some error that I forget. I have to run the patcher over and over again until it finally works its way through all the needed files. -

Well, what happened to me once, as I told Polleus, was I went in, and my HGWC launcher was renamed to HWGC, which of course stopped it from running. This was directly after a patch. Absolutely no idea how it was renamed, but it was quite a bother. -

Also, yes I am inpatient. During the time I couldn't play this game was during the time family members passed away and I was in deep depression and CF was the only thing that helped me get through the day so not being able to play it made me frustrated. Of course, now that I'm finally over my depression, it's back up and working -_-'.
