My new Rig
Hey everyone
Now, I'm not really all that technologically gifted, when it comes to what is actually inside a computer, or how the processes are handled etc, whatever, but I thought I'ld see if some techy-people could give me a little input!
I just ordered my new pc today, and was wondering just how well it would work?

here it is
And I'm pretty sure that compared to my current (A 3 year old HP laptop with a busted fan and overheating issues), this is a major improvement. Any notes or anything from anyone?

Yeah, cant say i would complain about that.
Not bad, not super amazing, I'm sure it can do everything you would need. -
Double post because i'm muffin and I can.
If you are willing to build your own pc, or if you want someone else to do it, you would get a much better price.
(cough) *I build pc's* (cough)
The issues I see, the processor is a low end dual core, which in that price range should either be a high end dual or a low end quad.
The graphics card is laughable, is that thing directx 10.1?
The ram is (I only glanced so i'm probably wrong on this one) DDR2. -

Well, its not like I can cancel the order >_<
Like I said, not much of a whats-inside-the-computer kind of guy. As long as its an improvement over what I currently have, than I really can't be all that mad. Oh, and as long as I can manage to get 50+ fps in a crossfire game (with this current laptop, I go from anywhere from high 30's to low 60's, depending on how many people are in the game) -
So can I, but keep in mind for some people that isn't an option.
How so, most people spend a weekend watching football, or having beers with buddies, take a weekend and throw some parts into a build, or if all else fails have someone do it for you.
The value ratio is much > prebuilts. -

Oh yeah it'll run fine, that wasn't really the point.
The point was for the price range, the pc isn't what it should be, not that it couldn't run it. -

That's better than the pc you just bought, at half the price.
NOT what the op asked for.
also might wanna upgrade that harddrive, throw in a psu and an operating system, since it wont even run without one.
The Ram isn't outstanding either.
also keep in mind I'm sure the op doesn't know how to build a computer, so who would need to pay someone.
Edit: nevermind about the psu. -

Fully aware the op didn't ask, was making a point, that was based off using spare parts.
The PC he got itself isn't the great either tbh, 550 for a Foxconn mobo?
OH, and because I feel terrible for ripping his pc choice to shreds, it WILL run CF fine at i'ma guess 70-100 fps. -
yay! lol >_< Well...Next time I have money and feel like an upgrade, I guess I know who to come to :P
Thanks for the input!
Haha, actually, that PC does have one thing going for it, with a few changes you COULD upgrade a few of the parts to make it a pretty good rig.
once you have the money do it in this order.
Replace the 400 watt psu with a 550 or so.
after that put in a 5770 AMD video card.
Then put in a phenom II x2 processor.
