scar light: is it really op?
I'm here to discuss the scar light in an intelligent and calm manner.

Anyway, this is an in-depth discussion on the scar light. Can one really call it overpowered?
I will go into the specs and explains my take on it.
My initial view of it was that it was OP, and I even owned one for a while. When I used it, I found it very inconsistent and not as reliable in close range as my AK.
Breakdown:
Damage. 4 shot kill, without a doubt. (body.) Always a 1 hit hs except when there is armor. Nothing special here, about a powerful as an M4.
Accuracy: A bit less than AK, a bit more than M4. An in-between, I would say.
Weight: between ak and m4 again.
RoF: Faster than ak but slower than m4. Easier to single shot with imo. Not incredibly fast, but not super slow.
Recoil: This is the point of debate. Some people say that it figuratively has no recoil and others say that the recoil is terrible. Once again, the recoil is below that of an M4, but the spread pattern is absolutely terrible. This balances it out.
For example, ak has high recoil and a very easy spray pattern.
M4 has a low recoil but a harder to control pattern.
Scar Light has even lower recoil but a much worse pattern.
In most cases, the scar light is an in-between of the ak and m4. It has mixed properties of both, and in some cases, exclusive properties from each gun. In the end, it balances out.
In conclusion, the scar light is an overrated weapon that doesnt deserve all of the hate it gets. Don't get me wrong, I would never use it over an ak or m4. The point here is: it is an overstatement to say that the scar light is really overpowered. The community, as always, hypes this gun up along with the kriss and m12s to highly disproportionate standards. The SL is not op.

These points I don't get.. doesn't M4 have better than AK? The crosshair is definitely smaller.
And don't the M4 and AK weigh the same? -
I agree, everytime I get the scarlight within a crate or something I never seem to be happy with it.. The fire rate seems very slow along with an awful spray pattern, this gun is really only meant for bursting and/or single shotting and because of that this gun is very bad in close quarter situations, long range seems to be where this gun shines however I want a gun thats good in all ranges..

Its definitely one of the easiest guns to be good with, but I wouldn't call it overpowered.

becuase you know what you talk about? o-o
oh well, i think the scar-l is a really good weapon, but not overpowered, just above the standards, like the m4a1, or the ak-47, but, the lack of recoil, makes it look like a really noobish gun, when it's not that noobish.
hell, look at the m12s and compare the two, you're going to say "scar-l? What a piece of ship compared with this gun..." ._. -

It isn't really overpowered more that it is easier to get a hang of and that's why people didn't like "noobs" getting to have them that easily. That's why the ranking to get it is higher along with a few other things (Price? I don't remember). That's why it isn't flamed as much instead another weapon...

I haven't used my scar light in forever but I don't think it's OP. Besides everyone and their brother has an adv gun of some kind with extendo-mags. Which kind of trumps slightly lower recoil. I do remember before they nerfed it though. It was so beast then:P

The only decent weapon is the Kriss (Nerfed twice if I remember correctly) And people still flame.
My personal opinion: Everyone should be able to use whichever guns they want to, instead of following the QQer horde! This would be made possible by removing the vote kick system.

SL has a spray thats pretty accurate if you full auto or burst. but idk anymore guns are just funky now adays -
My opinion
IMO it aint too overpowered,tho it is one of the best rifles(if not the BEST)at medium range and medium long range.I had it for a week from crates,and when i was in 1v1 close range id die everytime,but then again,i could beat snipers with it.In the end i dont think it is op -
I won it for 7 days in a crate once. True, it isn't great at close range, but at medium to long range, I found that there was no need to really worry about recoil. I was getting body shot kills across map without having to burst... Then again, this was about 1 and 1/2 years ago, so I dunno if it has been nerfed since then.
IMO, not as OPed as some of the other weapons out there... It may be easier to use than either the AK or the M4, but a small amount of skill is still needed, kinda. -

this thread reminds me of when axe came out and every one cried it's OP until the shovel came. now people don't care about SL, just the m12.
anyway Thread maker facts are mostly wrong. SL is OP and only bad players that use scar light look in the weapon section of forums. so of course they say it isn't OP.
SL/kriss were never nerfed. -
Most of the time, it's not even in a situation where it can be OP. The only mode where there's much complaining about it if any is SnD, and if you're out in the open at a distance, you better be worrying more about AWM's than a Scar.
A lot of the people who flame Scar Lighters now are the type that prefer to trash-talk in matches anyways, or who are just parroting the flaming done by people long ago, before competitive CF banned the SL and stopped worrying about it.
