'Failed download Patch File' - April Patch
Since the new April Patch I can't play CF!
I tried to play today and it was possible, but just with many Bugs:
- Game is shutdown, when I try to connect another Channel
- After I played a Game, I get no Game Results
- I can not repair Weapons
- I do not see contents of the Crates
- Clanmember can read my Chat, I do not get their Messages
Everyday I uninstall the Game, reboot my PC and install CF again!
While I install, my AVIRA tell me 'Malware - Virus found'
Sometimes I delete the File, sometimes I only close the Message,
I also tried to install with closed AVIRA.. it makes no different.
Then I patch CF and I get 'Failed download Patch File'.
My Support Ticket from Weekend was closed.
No Mail, no Answer.. no Help!
The last 3 Threads I wrote in are deleted..
..the same: No Answer, no Help, nothing!!
I know, many of you have the same Problem!
And I hope this Time someone can give a Answer like:
'We know the Problem, we try to fix it'
Or write in here if there is a good helpfull Answer in a other Thread.
For me the Handgun Week and my ZP Weapons are gone =(

Try the following
Uninstall the Game (via - control panel)
Delete all remaining folders of Z8/crossfire (My documents and Program Files)
Restart
Upon Launch do a virus chek with your antivirus (If it detects a virus, clean it up and restart you computer again)
Download CCleaner and perform a registry clean as well as a windows and applications clean.
Restart
Turn off your anti virus, download the game via (downloader)
Install
Run game (First run should give you a "Failed to download patch") run it again and it should be fixed
If you have windows Vista (god help you don't) run as administrator
... let me know how it goes... as detailed as you can. -
I know i got same problem and i also have black map..
my ticket is 5 days old now and still open(WTF?)
my thread was read but no reply for help...
got this problem from last april patch..
it failed to download patch when i re-installed game..

vertex lock failed date: 11 April 2011
hello everybody i have a problem on crossfire,
when i play the second game on crossfire than came a error. the name of the error is ''vertex lock failed''. please help me i can't play crossfire anymore... (the error is a black screen with other colours, so you can't play crossfire because you can't see where you walk)

I have reset the game 5 times but there is still the error ‘‘vertex lock failed’’, I cleaned the laptop 4 times and I scan the laptop 2 times but there is not a virus or something. Please help me!!!

Do a clean installation of the game client... see if that works... and this time chose a different installation path.
